30gut 03-13-2012, 07:58 PM I think gaffney's numbers represent his ceiling. Considering his age, the opposite is true for garçon.
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HDI would agree that Gaffney's numbers likely represent his ceiling but its still solid production.
In fact it that exact same production as Garcon.
If we're paying a FA WR or any player on what they might become I would prefer not to give them 21mil upfront straight cash.
When there are other journeyman that present similar 'upside' for much less compensation.
At the end of the day the WR corp just got better, so I'm happy.
But I hope that giving Garcon a hefty amount the cap space doesn't preclude signing a starting caliber RT like Eric Winston or the captain and heart&soul of our defense London Fletcher.

What will the cap penalty be in 2014 when Morgan's contract automatically voids?
Mahons21 03-13-2012, 08:09 PM Crazy canuck, can you give me some insight on to what the "void" references in Morgan's contract?
SirClintonPortis 03-13-2012, 08:09 PM One thing is for sure, our offense has plenty of speed now. We might, dare I say, rival Philly in terms of speed on offense.
CrazyCanuck 03-13-2012, 08:10 PM what will the cap penalty be in 2014 when morgan's contract automatically voids?
$4.5m
SkinzWin 03-13-2012, 08:11 PM I'll just have to change it right back
"Redskins Add Pierre Garcon, Josh Morgan, (and coming soon!) Eddie Royal"
SirClintonPortis 03-13-2012, 08:14 PM I will say this: Eddie Royal is one of the best bubble screen receivers you'll ever see.
CrazyCanuck 03-13-2012, 08:15 PM Crazy canuck, can you give me some insight on to what the "void" references in Morgan's contract?
Not sure without seeing the contract but basically just means there are provisions in there that will make a void in 2014 very likely.
It may mean the team and/or player can void after 2013. Or there could be a poison pill roster bonus in 2014 (ie like a $10M roster bonus which will most likely never be paid). But considering the deal is announced as 5 years $12M, doesn't seem to be a poison pill in there.
