Haven't read the rest of this thread, but there is an elephant in the room: Santana Moss has become absolutely expendable.

Man, the people at Wikipedia are really on top of things. They already have garçon on the Redskins.

And they saved a bunch of paper in the process...if Wiki had been a print encyclopedia. :FIREdevil

Maybe then we can get rid of Barnes. Oh my God. Please, get rid of Barnes.

I wouldn't say he's the most productive. Moss was out over a month with his broken hand and has almost consistently put up 1000+ yard seasons since he's been here. Gaffney HAD to be productive cuz the rest of our WR corp at the time blew.

I'm with you DRave. Moss has more talent. Gaffney caught many balls because defenses focused on taking Moss out of the play.

That said, both Moss and Gaffney may be hittin' the bricks.

the only thing is that, according to the salary cap info here, we would barely save anything by cutting him. hes just as expensive to cut as he is to keep, so that could keep him here.

SirClintonPortis, I was thinking the same thing. Santana Moss is a true pro and has been such a vital portion of our offense for the past 7 seasons. But unless he's going to be in a reserve role, what will be his status for the upcoming season? As a fan, I can look back to great things Moss has done for this franchise since we traded Coles for him in 2005. But it's in the best interest of this team to move forward. I like the additions to the wide receiving corps.

I have 3 threads open right now but people keep questioning why we'd cut Gaffney. Its a money/age issue.

I agree he needs to stay on the team, but thats just how the business is..

Well, that's what competition is for then. We'll see if he has another year with us or not. I'm fine with either route(keeping him or letting him go) if it makes sense.
