Carriker's tweet (https://twitter.com/#!/BigPoppaPump94/status/193456401727762432) to Paul about his move to TE. Pretty funny:
@BigPoppaPump94: @Niles_Paul84 I believe ur explosive, but if ur gonna turn into a tight end u better get ur lift on, cause I'm coming 4 u little fella!

Paul likely blocks better than Davis and is perhaps more athletic.

All we're missing this year is a 2nd rounder, we have
1.2
3.6
4.7
4.14
5.6
6.3
7.6
It's kinda comical that some think as a result of the trade we have crippled our draft for years to come. We could still emerge with 2 starters and a 2 immediate contributors from this class. Also, don't rule out a trade down in the 3rd to pick up either another 3rd or a 2nd next year.
Back on point, Kyle's strength as an OC is finding mismatches and a hybrid weapon like Paul can open up some nice passing lanes for Griffin.

The numbers the past 2 years show otherwise. Even last year he looked slow as molasses.
In 2010, Cooley had 77 catches and 849 yards, hardly a sign of decline. And Cooley had knee injury last year, which explains the great decline in his speed. I don't think Cooley is done yet, at least not this year. Now that Paul is becoming TE, if he plays well and Cooley doesn't this year then I could see the cut coming next season. But not this year.

Wow, 2 picks in 4th round. That's pretty darn good.
It'd be nice if we could turn one of our 2nd-4th picks into a starter. The 3rd rounder has a good shot depending on what position we go (S or OL possibly). The 4ths maybe if we get a little lucky with our projections and evaluations. It's nice to have two shots in the 4th so close together to up our chances at finding some impact at a point in the draft where it is reasonable to think it is possible.

One of the things that Shanny loves about NP is his blocking. (to go along with his work ethic)
Also, according to a recent tweet by Niles Paul, he's currently at 234.
This.. kid is still young and has a frame to fill out
He was great blocking WR and pretty solid special teamer last year... this keeps him on the team in a role maybe better suited towards keeping him.
If we have a more mobile offense overall.. this is the type of TE you want.

Do you think with the weight Paul has put on they would use him as a pass catching FB.

I posted a link to WP about Niles Paul switching positions and why he's doing it, but looks like it may have gotten taken down for some dumb reason whatever it may be...?

Niles Paul didn't figure that much into the passing game in his rookie season. He only caught 2 passes the whole season. While an excellent hitter on special teams, playing TE could be his true calling. Paul could very well thrive as a TE
