In regards to Mario's contract.
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter
Mario Williams' deal in Buffalo: six years, up to $100 million, including $50 million guaranteed
I blame Vinny and Dan for this type of stupid contracts. Had to go and set the market with a 100million dollar defensive lineman. /facepalm
At what point is it going to stop? You can't dedicate but so much money to a player to field a competitive team. Make no mistake about it, I think the players should get a bulk of the money, but paying one guy(not a QB) that?
He's a LB too, isn't he? I guess an Orakpo-type versatile guy.

Why do folks get so wrapped up about the money? Who gives a shit it isn't my money or yours.
They could pay Mario Williams 10 billion for all i give a crap.

Actually, it is your money (the fans). That said, it wouldn't be a big deal if their were no salary cap, but it doesn't make very good business sense to dedicate that type of money to one player that isn't a QB. I don't think Houston dropped off when Mario went out, which is exactly why they are letting him walk.
This isn't about how much money he's making. It's how much a % he's taking up of the salary cap.

Well it is a voluntary tax you could choice not to spend your dollars on he NFL.
To me the salary cap is a joke ever year teams figure ways to beat it.
They make lots of money (shocker) get over.

You gotta figure Bills signing Mario Williams won't help whatever shot the Dolphins had of getting Peyton Manning

The fact you said this, tells me you didn't understand exactly what I said. This isn't a argument about how much a guy is making. It's a argument about bettering your team by allocating that money elsewhere to provide quality depth and skill at other positions compared to dumping it into one player who really can be replaced with not much drop off.

Because you support this team don't you? And with a salary cap the more money we pay to one player the less we have to make the team better by signing other guys.

I don't support the Bills and I don't think the salary cap really handicaps teams. There always seems to be away around it.
