diehardskin2982 03-12-2012, 10:52 PM no word from NFL is there? mooby 03-12-2012, 10:52 PM We are screwed. The RG III deal is negated somewhat now. Yeah, we might have our boy, but now we have to cut bodies and no longer have a nice pot of money to get FAs with. Rebuilding just took a big hit if this crap is indeed the NFL law of the land. No money to really shore up the o line or defense at this point, and we will need to make some cuts that we don't want to make. Depth took a hit as well. The next two drafts will be just enough to maybe get some decent backups for depth, but beyond that forget it. I sure hope our scouts did a bangup job this season so we really draft smart. I don't know about you guys, but I like watching fans overreact. R1bIhZO7o3k WE DIDN'T LISTEN! Ruhskins 03-12-2012, 10:54 PM I don't know about you guys, but I like watching fans overreact. Or not reading anything at all before posting. LOL. http://www.toonopolis.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/reading_is_fundamental.jpg IrMitchell 03-12-2012, 10:54 PM We are screwed. No we are not screwed. We just need to resign Fletch and get a receiver. CultBrennan59 03-12-2012, 11:05 PM This is my point. In my 15 years of being "in the biz" I have never, ever known the NFL to give leeway on things that have to be submitted for approval. Such as a players' contract. It's either yes it's approved, or no, go back and try again. There's never "we don't approve but we'll sign off on it" Exactly Bubba305-ST21- 03-12-2012, 11:08 PM so what happens at 4 tomorrow? are we going in this thing like this never came up? thats how i received it from the statement from the redskins. i wonder if the NFL will come back with something before 4 tomorrow Hog1 03-12-2012, 11:09 PM so what happens at 4 tomorrow? They need to find better value and sign more cap friendly alternatives to guys like Vincent Jackson. While I agree we need to add a WR, I don't think that receiver needs to be all-world. If we get good play from the QB position, the WR production will improve by default. Maybe an Eddie Royal in the slot instead of Moss and someone like Josh Morgan to compliment Hankerson and Gaffney. I think we'd all like to see them better utilize Cooley and Davis. WRs are a nice to have. Teams regularly win Super Bowls without GREAT WRs. See Steelers, Colts, Patriots, etc. Brees makes weapons out of anyone they trot out on the field. With maybe the exception of Hines Ward, none of those teams will put any WRs in the hall of fame. And the O line gets a bad rap. The sacks weren't outrageous last year, especially if you eliminate the 10 sack game that I would lay at the feet of John Beck. Grossman had plenty of time to throw downfield, but routinely underthrew his receivers, and there were plenty of running lanes for Royster and Helu, even with our makeshift line. They could get away with 1 free agent WR and 1 free agent O-lineman and look for some sleepers in the draft. I'm pretty sure they racked up the most yards since 2000 last year. Despite all his skills and potential, RGIII is still a rookie and will experience some growing pains. Let's get through this season, make the best of it and continue to build around RGIII next year. Go young and build for the long haul. I'm not stressing.
