Keep in mind that if Tannehill goes before 6, we might not have had a chance to get him anyways.

GhettoDogAllStars 03-30-2012, 05:13 PM Keep in mind that if Tannehill goes before 6, we might not have had a chance to get him anyways. Paintrain 03-30-2012, 05:20 PM Apparently, Todd McShay is saying that there is very little difference between RG3 and Ryan Tannehill. I hope he is wrong, but it makes you wonder: Did we have to spend all those draft picks if Tannehill would have provided us with the same quality of play? Overall, I'm happy with the trade, but I'll have to remember to ask myself this in three-five years... If Mayock said that, I'd give it a little more thought.. McShay, eh... I've got a general bias against ESPN guys anyways (think they say more things for effect than accuracy) but too many scouts have major questions about Tannehill for me to think the gap is close. One scout I read recently compared Tannehill to Kyle Boller coming out. Great athlete, great tools, no idea how to actually play QB at the next level. GTripp0012 03-30-2012, 05:25 PM There's been a fair amount of backlash against Tannehill in recent days. It's not hard for me to envision Tannehill as a guy who is playing quarterback in this league at a high level, but it's hard for me to see a guy who ever has a lot of contractual security. Mechanix544 03-30-2012, 05:48 PM Its two first rounders, a second, and a swap of 1st rounders this year. St Louis is not gaining 3 first rounders and we are not losing 3 first rounders. Thats the way I see it. If i had a nickel for every time someone "explains" the deal for the number 2 pick, I think Id have more than the 540 million dollar jackpot. We gave them THREE, count em 3!! first round picks for the rights to the number two pick in this years draft (with RG3, this numero dos picko is like a number one pick any other year other than this year......). Its just semantics..........who cares how people report on it. Everyone has an agenda, everyone wants to get their points across. So for one journalist, on Monday of next week, he is saying its 2 first rounders, but on thursday the next week, to help him prove whatever point he is trying to make, it behooves him to report the deal as 3 first rounders. All I know is that RG3 is gonna be a redskin, and i have never been as excited as this as a redskins fan for one prospect!!!!!!! Damn dude its the offseason, what the hell im i suppose to argue about? GTripp0012 03-30-2012, 06:19 PM This is pretty interesting: Gil Brandt expects Osweiler to be first-round pick | ProFootballTalk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/30/gil-brandt-expects-osweiler-to-be-first-round-pick/) GTripp0012 03-30-2012, 06:24 PM I would take Tannehill over Osweiler, given the choice. But I think the Dolphins are far more likely to trade down for a Parcellsian prospect in Osweiler vs. trading up for a guy in Tannehill who their offensive coordinator has already invested a considerable amount of effort into to get him to this point. I think Tannehill goes 5th overall to the Seahawks in a trade up. EARTHQUAKE2689 03-30-2012, 06:48 PM I would take Tannehill over Osweiler, given the choice. Because the Seahawks didn't just sign Matt Flynn or anything. mbedner3420 03-30-2012, 06:54 PM Because the Seahawks didn't just sign Matt Flynn or anything. It's the Seahawks. Would you really be surprised? skinsfaninok 03-30-2012, 07:24 PM Because the Seahawks didn't just sign Matt Flynn or anything. Flynn only got three year s but I still don't see them taking a qb |
