I would definitely draft Mike Shanahan. Not the coach of the Redskins but the wide receiver from Pitt. The guy plays like Joe Jurevicius and is around the same size. But Shanahan won't be coming out until next year's draft in 2013.

I'd rather take the LeSean McCoy-esque running back out of Pitt. Can't remember his name though.

I agree with you on that statement concerning Banks and Anderson. But not Armstrong. Armstrong had a decent season in 2010 but in 2011 he didn't much playing time before of injuries and the strong play of Jabar Gaffney. Armstrong might have a big year in 2012.

i'm with you. i would rather the skins not draft a wr at all this year and if they do, just try and find someone in the late rounds with potential. we have enough of a core to get us through the next season. the wr i have the most questions about is armstrong. he was lighting it up for a while and then just dissapeared. my thinking is because once mcnubb was gone we didn't have a qb that could get a ball to him down field. i'm hoping with griffin coming in we will have the ability to start using armstrong as we did when he first got here. i hope he shows somthing in camp and can be our deep threat this year.

Armstrong didn't play much because: He can't beat the press, he only runs one route effectively, and he sucks. Armstrong is gone.

and has inconsistent hands... AA's gone, and I'd add T. Austin, Banks, and Anderson.

I dunno, there is something about Austin. I believe that with RG3 here, Austin could end up making his mark here. I would love to see two of our young WRs step up, instead of only Hankerson, who I think is going to end up becoming a legitimate numero uno in the league. When I look at our young WR corps and RG3, I can honestly say that this is the best WR group we have had in DC since the posse left.

Im sure this has been said before on this board, but with a blue chip franchise QB leading your team, and a decent OLine, WRs who normally are run of the mill become above average options at the position seemingly overnight. I believe we are set at the WR position, but that does not mean I dont think we shouldnt draft one in the 5th round or later looking for a diamond in the rough type. It IS possible.

I think Austin is gone. Our opening day WR core in my opinion:

Leonard Hankerson
Pierre Garcon
Joshua Morgan
Santana Moss
Jabar Gaffney
Joe Adams

Aldrick Robinson/Niles Paul to PS

* Gaffney might be gone too.

Agree (I'll keep Gaffney)... This is a decent WR core.

Mark my words, Niles Paul will make this roster. His special teams play outs him ahead of every one else fighting for a roster. He also is a very hood blocker down field which Shanny loves. He did have many catches on the field but caught everything thrown his way in camp and practice. Lets not forget he was a rookie with no OTAs and was a late round draft pick. He needs time to develop just like almost every WR in the league. Very few WRs do anything their rookie year. It will also surely help that he wont havr Beck and Grossman throwing him the ball!!

We need all the "hood" blockers we can get.
