SkinzWin 03-05-2012, 01:14 PM NFL Live 4 pm E/T on ESPN today. Special Roundtable discussion of Bounties in the NFL. skinsfan69 03-05-2012, 01:14 PM Not sure where you work but my bonuses come with taxes already taken out. I've worked at places where there were cash bonuses. SkinzWin 03-05-2012, 01:15 PM I've worked at places where there were cash bonuses. Chippendale Club? http://i44.tinypic.com/359kbix.png NC_Skins 03-05-2012, 01:17 PM I do, it's illegal, and I'm sure the IRS has an eye on this too since I don't think these guys were claiming the additional income. The whole evading taxes bit here is a petty reason to be honest. Let's think about how many office pools across America that are never reported as income. However, the bigger issue in all of this is circumventing the salary cap. Looked what happened to the Minnesota Timberwolves when they tried to pay Joe Smith under the table. They got slammed big time. I really don't think bonuses for head hunting really mean anything these days because the fines usually occurred by dirty play will always be greater than that of the pool they might be winning. However, no coach should teach or suggest dirty play of any sort. You can knock opponents out of the game without having to succumb to dirty tactics. skinsfan69 03-05-2012, 01:18 PM WRONG. This from Bufffalo: NFL.com news: Former Bills safety Wire reveals 'bounty' system under Williams (http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d8275de8b/article/williams-reportedly-also-ran-bounty-system-as-bills-head-coach) Wire told The Buffalo News (http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/bills-nfl/article747663.ece) in Sunday's editions that "there was financial compensation" for delivering hits that seriously injured opponents, and three other former teammates, who spoke on condition of anonymity, also confirmed it to the newspaper. So there you go. There's a player saying guys were paid to deliver hits that "seriously injured opponents." OK so you've got your one guy that hit a guy legally that knocked him out of the game. But you've also got several that say..."no big deal, this is a part of football"....I'm not goiing to get into a pissing contest with you over this. You've got your opinion and I've got mine. Invading would be by Seal Team 6. MTK 03-05-2012, 01:21 PM The whole invading taxes bit here is a petty reason to be honest. We're not talking about a couple of bucks in a measly office pool, we're talking thousands of dollars flying around. Vilma reportedly tossed $10k on a table for someone to take out Favre in the '09 playoff game. Don't you think the IRS wants a piece of that? skinsfan69 03-05-2012, 01:21 PM Even though it is against the rules? Blatantly so. Oh, and illegal. It's against the rules to give a player a few extra dollars for decking Tony Romo. I guess Daniels is going to hell and jail for not paying the IRS. MTK 03-05-2012, 01:23 PM OK so you've got your one guy that hit a guy legally that knocked him out of the game.
