Lol and that ain't happening.. maybe trade rak for a WR or DB? Idk but I would miss him he's a big time player
The only way i'd be okay with parting ways with Rak is if we replaced him with Mario Williams. Not sure we'd be able to pull that off though.

My guess is the only thing they are trading Rak for is picks to recoup some of that lost in the RGIII trade. Just a guess though.

That would make no sense because we would have to give up the second overall pick we just traded up for to get him since he is a restricted free agent.
Does anyone know if it's possible to trade a player for a RFA? I'm not sure but I think that's doable.
Also, cliffhanger posts on a message board? As said on ESPN, come on man. Either keep it to yourself or just post the rumor.

I'm just curious here but what kind of draft pick compensation do you think Orakpo would be worth? If i had to say i would think he would only fetch us maybe a late 1st or a second and in my opinion that wouldn't be enough to let him go. I'd be inclined to change my mind if there was another early pick next season though.

Well, as you all recall I've been preparing you guys for a possible Orakpo departure since around November...that said though, the Redskins were actively shopping him in their attempt to secure a franchise QB, which they presumably have now.
So while it wouldn't surprise me if Rak is still on the market-not because they don't like him, but because he has value-I would be surprised if this rumored trade involved him.

If you could get his replacement in FA and then pick up a extra 1st rounder by trading him. Yeah.

What would we trade him FOR though? Picks? Players? Neither makes a ton of sense to me given orakpos youth, our cap space, and the free agent market

I think it would be smarter to keep Rak this year and shop him next year to recoup a first rounder. An improve offense may help the defense and could increase Orakpo's value. Besides, I would want to see another year of Kerrigan. I don't think he'll decline at all, but still.

I personally think this is as high as Rak's value is going to get. Buy low, sell high.
If you could pick up Mario Williams, and net a 1st rounder by trading Rak, would you do it? I would in fact go all Vinny Cerrato on this!!! :cool-smil

You don't think the defense would be better with an improved offense? Besides, I feel that MW is going to go to a 4-3 team.
