When was the last time VJ got into trouble for his drug use? And if he's a concern cause he might get caught again and be sidelined then we might as well get rid of TW and Davis too since they are on their last leg also. No sense in taking risks.
His problem was DUIs not drugs if I remember correctly, and the last time he got into trouble was before the 2009 season's playoffs. DUS (driving under suspended license) that he received on his way to the Chargers last home playoff game.

not sure how you can say he would be a good strong safety, especially in our D where the strong safety is required to make alot of tackles and be involved in run support. i havent seen anything in westbrook to think he is capable of that, i think we are going to regret letting laron go if we cant find a good replacement.
Westbrook is one of those defenders who is a decent tackler. If he's capable of lining up against a solid wideout, then he can play safety. As a matter of fact, safety is easier to play than corner back. If Rod Woodson can do it, then so can any other corner. I just feel Westbrook would make a better safety than he a corner.
I don't think the Redskins will miss Landry much. It's like the defense hasn't been without him much. The defense has been without Landry more than with him so the defense has survived. Reed Doughty, despite not being an Ed Reed, Sean Taylor, Roy Williams, or even a Brian Dawkins, is good enough to play SS. But the Redskins do need to have Doughty play a more reserve role and if not sign someone, stick with Gomes or give Westbrook a shot at it.

I went back a couple of pages to read what DC tailgate and Smoot were talking about.
That is a big deal for an aging WR. PM to VJ all day?

Trading for an offensive tackle wouldn't be such a bad idea. Maurice Hurt should be given an opportunity to start at right tackle. I'd be really surprised if the Redskins retain Jamaal Brown.

I rather have Willie Smith shift to RT, he proved last year he could play, he faced some of the best pass rushers and held his own.

VJ had a suspension for 2 DUIs, not anything drug related.

I'm not a fan of Jackson's history of disciplinary issues and holdouts.
I'd rather get Colston for sure, of IF we bring in Manning, Wayne also.
We'd have Wayne, Moss and Hankerson all from The U.
Honestly, we could use a solid #1 for whatever QB we roll with, but Moss, Hankerson, Armstrong, Gaffney, Banks, Paul, Austin and Aldrick Robinson are a great young FAST group of WRs with a couple of solid vets mixed in.
A good QB will make last year's WR group look solid.
However, adding a legit #1 to that group will make it very potent.

Not sure that makes a difference when it comes to being on the cusp of a one year suspension

If Manning comes here, I wouldn't mind getting either Colston or Garcon. Preferably Garcon...although I wonder if we could get both Garcon and Wayne (the Coltskins baby!)
