I still like the dirty Sanchez, he really hasn't gotten a chance to prove himself. Shottenheimer was too conservative just like his dad, let's judge him after Sparano.

Don't you think we could do better than that with all this cap space? He doesn't have more than 700 yards and 3 TDs in four seasons.

Most of his numbers were pre-Harbaugh and then he broke his leg last year, from what I've seen this kid has lots of potential. You guys should be familiar with him from his Virginia Tech days.

I think Welker has become a big name receiver for the Patriots, although when they had Randy Moss stretching the field (and scaring the hell out of everyone) they were pretty much unstoppable. As we saw in the SB, Cruz and Nicks were the focus of Darth Hoody's defense, and Cruz is on his way to becoming a big name receiver.

My point is that no one on our roster scares an opponent's secondary. With our cap room and the good options out there at wideout, I think it is an opportunity to get a guy like Colston or VJax that will be a threat in the passing game.

I am all for being cautious in free agency, but teams that are too frugal with their cap money are not the most successful ones. Neither are the ones tha spend a lot of money, but you have to find a nice balance between the two.

I agree but their is a difference between cruz and welker's game and what colston and jackson would bring to the table. I just have seen plenty of times where going after the top free agent or one haunts the team for years. I like the thought of drafting young receivers with a young quarterback and having them growing in the same system and learning the ins and outs of one playbook.

I think Hank is supposed to fill this role...and if he plays the way he played this season (when he got hurt) then we are set. But Hank is rehabilitating and we may need those draft picks in other areas. And while we have the right to be concern about FA spending, I have yet to see BA give out a crazy a$$ contract the way Vinny did.

I'd rather have Jackson over Colston.

Garçon must be eagerly looking forward to FA. Does that make Garçon a waiter?
