tryfuhl 02-28-2012, 05:07 PM Minimum deal would be 1,2,3 this year, and 1st next year. Maybe even a player or more picks.
No... that's what Eskin reported we are willing to give up, meaning maximum. The same Eskin that said Manning would be a Redskin by this time now.
SmootSmack 02-28-2012, 05:10 PM Any word on who they might get for RT? Are they looking to improve at RT?
Well, they'd like to give Jammal Brown a chance to finally get healthy
Some think they may make another run, yet again, at Ryan Harris
If they don't trade their 1st and 2nd, they have been showing interest in several OTs (Jonathan Martin, Riley Rieff, Mike Adams) and have told all them they'd be interested in them as RTs
over the mountain 02-28-2012, 05:12 PM if we are gonna offer a ton I hope its for luck or bradford.
is RGIII really on par with luck?
this just seems insane to me.

It's a damn shame that we didn't suck enough for this not to matter...
Dirtbag59 02-28-2012, 05:23 PM Same was said when Matt Leiart and Vince Young came out,how did that go?
Apples to oranges my friend. Those two were victims of themselves.

I'm pretty sure RGIII worse offense is going to be taking a night off to watch a movie with his fiance instead of spending an extra hour studying the playbook.

Down the road he could be but as of today no way.
Robert Griffin trade rumors already spinning out of control | ProFootballTalk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/02/28/robert-griffin-trade-rumors-already-spinning-out-of-control/)
word is skins are ready to give two first according to NFL Live
Smoot do you know which camp is leaking these rumors? Is it St. Louis or Washington?
44Deezel 02-28-2012, 05:25 PM I tell you. I think what's funny as hell is watching the irony of fan reactions over the years.
GM: trades picks for players and supplements loss of talent via free agency which ultimately destroys cap in future.
Fans: OMG BUILD THROUGH THE DRAFT! Quit killing the salary cap! Our team is old and our depth sucks!! Look at New England and Pittsburgh.
GM: Conserves picks and builds roster through young, cheap talent while filling few holes with free agency.
Fans: OMG WE NEED TO BLOW THOSE PICKS ON THIS GUY!! We can build the team with loss of talent in free agency.
The irony of it all is mind boggling. It's almost like watching politicians at work. Flip flopping to hell, and have no issues with the way business is ran until it doesn't suit them. I'm just commenting on the situation, not saying one way or another in regards to RGIII or any other move. Merely a observation.
Pretty much, but it's a little different this time in that we have the cap space to off-set the loss of the 2nd and 3rd round pick. In previousl years, we'd blow our wad on 1 or 2 free agents AND have very few picks in the draft.
If we gave up this year's 2nd and 3rd, we could arguably get the same caliber of players in free agency. But I get your overall argument and don't necessarily disagree. Like I've said in other posts, I bet there's going to be a QB taken AFTER Luck and RGIII that goes on to have a very successful career for a team that didn't have to go to extremes to get him. Would be nice if we had the luxury of being that team, but we're desparate and have to grasp (to an extent).

Why is a giant fan that won 2 super bowls by trading up for a QB hanging out on a Redskins message board taking a squirt in our bowl of RG3 cheerios?

You've created a false either/or here. By trading up to get RGIII we would be building through the draft while conserving cap space. Your either/or presumes that trading up is somehow anti-draft when in fact it is a different way of using the draft.
GTripp0012 02-28-2012, 05:32 PM I don't think Nicks is coming here. Nor Grubbs for that matter. In fact, hearing more and more they're may not be radical additions at OL this off-season. Maybe some depth, but we'll seeOur offensive line is interesting because after going back and watching every snap of the first four games, it's clear that there's no obvious weakness on the left side with Williams-Lichtensteiger-Montgomery. What's interesting though is that LG and C are the two non-premium positions on the line that you could slide Chester (or more controversially, Brown) to if you wanted to keep continuity while improving their performance.
One way or another, the Redskins are going to need talent upgrades on that right side of the line. But I don't think that necessarily means that Brown and Chester aren't long for this team. I could see Chester moving to left guard if the Redskins can't reach agreement with Lichtensteiger before he's an unrestricted FA next year, and think he'd be good there.
It also wouldn't shock me if the Redskins only drafted at the Center position this year, hoping to add depth there where they have failed to add depth after the first two years.
When Shanahan took over, he inherited an NFL line with one starter on it (Heyer, who is no longer here). Now we just have just one side of the line that is problematic. That, I suppose, is improvement.

Because he has no life.
