There is game tape that tells you RGIII is a legitimate QB and not simply a track star. Why do people keep discounting what he did at Baylor last year like anyone could have done the same? And just a heads up but it wasn't one interview. He had multiple interviews (ie the NFL Network) and the general consensus is that he handled the questions better than the rest of the QB group. This includes actual football talk and not just "how would you describe yourself" questions.
I like him, but feel like Cam Newtons performance last year has skewed a lot of opinions on RGIII. Putting up big passing stats in a college spread Offense normally wouldn't mean much, and people are having a hard time setting his speed and mobility to the side. Give me the 40 times of Big Ben, Brees, Rodgers, Brady and both Mannings any day of the week. To me, the faster RGIII runs, the bigger the impact will be when a 250LB. Linebacker slams into him.
That said, if the Shanny's are in love with him and think he's the chosen one, then this year's second and third and next year's first isn't a terrible price to pay ONLY because we can get the same caliber players in free agency. If we weren't in such a solid position with free agency, it would be a much tougher pill to swallow.
