Well, I feel you could have dismissed that thought when I described the price as reported by Eskin like this:
Describing it as the Redskins vs. time simply points out the reality that the pick wouldn't get moved before draft day if the Redskins were to abstain from being part of the discussions. If you take out the biggest player for the pick, then there simply isn't much trade interest.
So what do you suggest the Redskins do at QB until draft day if RG3 is who they really want? Do they do nothing and hope to win this stare down with the Rams? Do they blow 20 mil of this years cap room on Manning when they really want RG3? As of now John Beck is their only QB on the roster. Maybe making the trade now costs an extra pick or two but it also saves a bunch of wasted cap dollars on unneeded contingency plans...

Lets get that 2nd pick! I will drive Orakpo or anyone else to the airport...
Again, I have been tuning into the Warpath for about a decade. This is my second post. This is a classic quote.
Man...
I am more excited this offseason than I have been...in about a decade.

I agree, at least since Gibbs made his return. I think the excitement is do to the possibility to acquire a QB with talent we havent had in a long long time. Whether its Manning, RG3 or Luck, I feel the time is now to land one of them and the possibility to do so is real.

Right now it feels as such, I just hope its not one of those Christmases when you really wanted the new Optimus Prime Transformer but ended up getting a couple of Go-Bots.

I would prefer to see RG3I over Manning at this point. I want youth and someone who can be there for the long haul. Drafts are still a crap shoot but I like what RG3 brings to the table, he is talented and poised you definitely have to have that in DC. We have not had a true franchise QB in 15 years.

Would hate to see Orakpo leave.

What we need to happen is this
Miami signs Manning
Drafts Tannehill
Cleveland signs Matt Flynn
The price for RG3 becomes a lot cheaper. And our chances of keeping orakpo become better.

That is one of the best quotes I have seen in a long damn time! Thanks for the laugh!

The thing about getting Griffin even at the 1st, 2nd, 3rd price propsed is it ironically offers the franchise a ton of flexibility.
Aside from finally getting a franchise QB it gives Shanahan the QB he needs to be successful on offense it also gives the team a safety net if Shanahan fails as a coach and needs to be replaced.
I mean can you guys imagine having to scrap the entire offense AGAIN? We've spent all this time looking for zone blocking lineman and one cut backs, to have to go back and replace them while looking for a QB at the same time, safe to say it would be a disaster.
What I learned from Michael Vick in Atlanta (ie having an insanely athletic QB) is even if he sucks at playing QB you'll still win games. I just can't imagine a situation where RGIII fails to help us win games outside of medical reasons.
