The only player I would trade Orakpo for would be Luck, no one else. I would give them the 6th, Orakpo, Hall and next year's 1st.
He's good, but not so good that trading him is a deal breaker when you're trying to acquire a rare talent like RGIII.

I don't know about that, many people underestimate Orakpo. You think Kerrigan could be as effective without him? The one wildcard is Markus White, if he has developed maybe then. By the way, I really, really like White.

I think giving up next years first rounder is a little too much.
Franchise Qb's don't grow on trees...

I agree.
A) A franchise QB is everything in today's pass-happy NFL.
B) As much as I love Rak, he has yet to develop enough moves to make him an elite NFL pass-rusher. He's kind of a one-trick pony, even if that one trick is very good.

TBH I am not sold on this move or any other that finds us giving away a ton of picks or solid players for a 50/50 chance to hit on a QB prospect. Sure it could work out, but with all the holes this team has I just don't see this being a great move.
I am also wondering why so many in this thread have us trading players who aren't under contract. LL, FD, and Fletch all are not on our roster anymore. I also don't see the team signing the players to deals just to trade them.
For real.
I must say, if we trade up I would hate to lose any of our current good young player such as Rak. I would only do it to get Luck IMO.

I would be willing to trade Orakpo straight up for Robert Griffin (personal preference more than equal value), but the idea that the second pick is worth Orakpo and the 6th pick is very silly.

I would offer this year's first and second, Rak, and next year's second rounder for the #1 overall pick.

I love the potential of RG3, seems athletic, can run & throw, and seems smart. Seems every draft analyst has fallen in love w him.
BUT, anyone else concerned that RG3:
1) Was not even in this conversation about 6 months ago? One year wonder?
2) Is at heart a running QB, who tend to get injured in the NFL (see "Vick, Michael")
3) Ran the spread offense in college?
Again, I do think RG3 be good -- but we have to objectively look at him before we throw away our team to get this guy. I'd rather throw the house in for a guy like Luck who's produced year after year, is not a gimmick-run QB, and ran a pro offense...
I just think you can't go wrong with Luck, but you'd have to get a little Lucky with RG3.

I agree with the majority on trading Orakpo.
I think Griffin has a much high ceiling than Luck. Great news on the montgomery signing, I can't wait for the draft and to see how everyone does tomorrow in WR/QB/RB drills.

Still testing the market though, isn't he?
Yeah, they'll let him test it I believe but I don't think he's going anywhere
