There are rumors that the Vikes may move once they are sold, them or the Saints are potential targets to move to LA.
Emmitt Smith To Announce Retirement...Buy Vikings?MTK 02-01-2005, 08:40 PM There are rumors that the Vikes may move once they are sold, them or the Saints are potential targets to move to LA. Yeah, LA should get a team, but I defintley dont think the NFL should expand anymore. I have always thought the Vikings would be the team to move. Riggo44 02-01-2005, 10:13 PM I just want LA to get a NFC team so I can see the Skins more often!! :httr: The Vikings would work, but I like them in Minnesota.(They just need to play out side again.!) I think LA should get the SAINTS. MTK 02-01-2005, 10:33 PM Hold the presses, Emmitt says the rumors of him retiring are false... SmootSmack 02-01-2005, 10:44 PM yeah I think that's what skinsguy was saying right? Apparently he spoke today with the Dallas Morning News, "Did you see my year last year?" Smith was quoted as asking on the paper's web site. "Do you think I'm ready to retire?" I thought he might try for 20,000 yards but that's another two or three years at least away. SKINSnCANES 02-02-2005, 12:06 AM he definitly played much better last year than he did the year before. And I am talking about before he got hurt. How many yards did he end up with? whats MTK 02-02-2005, 09:36 AM He had 900 and change and 9 TD's sportscurmudgeon 02-02-2005, 12:42 PM Vikings have a lease on their stadium through 2010/1011 season so moving them before that could be dicey. IF the league really wants a team in LA, they ought to be able to handle this prior to the 2011 season. Personally, I think the league really does NOT want a team in LA. They want LA to be that "big market where a stadium might be built to take a team " and use that as a lever to get new stadiums built for existing teams in places like Minnesota and Louisiana and Indy (already done) and Arizona (already done) and San Diego (already done). Good point. LA is to the NFL as Washington was to baseball - the threatened move of any and all teams looking to extort taxpayer funds for a stadium. The collapse of the Expos made DC almost impossible to say no to, but opposition to Vegas as the new "dream location" is fading as we speak... MTK 02-02-2005, 01:14 PM LA is just too big of a market for the NFL to ignore. They want a franchise in LA to SUCCEED, which going by history isn't likely to happen no matter how hard they try. |
