Basically Irsay is saying Manning can stay if he takes a huge pay cut.

Jim Irsay says team 'would love to have' QB Peyton Manning back (http://www.theredzone.org/BlogDescription/tabid/61/EntryId/23863/Jim-Irsay-says-team--would-love-to-have--QB-Peyton-Manning-back/Default.aspx)

Breaking: Irsay says he is willing to keep Manning

Just heard.

IF he Really does keep Peyton, which I don't see happening, then I feel like that helps our chances of getting Andrew Luck, because I don't see Luck just chilling there in Indy playing with/sitting behind an uncertain QB.

Irsay's been kind of saying that off and on for a while. He's going to do whatever so that if Peyton isn't a Colt it's not seen as Irsay ran him out of town

I was saying the Colts wouldn't let PM go but now I think it may just happen

I doubt PM and Luck will coexist on the same roster. PM is NOT going to BU and I am not sure about Luck. Irsay is an idiot and his......Dumbassness with his Twitter hand is rewarding him in the press.
As SS points out he is just trying to mend a few fences for the time when the man that built the Colts...leaves.

To me, if the plan was for Peyton to stay in Indy, we would have heard different things from both Peyton and Irsay in the last few weeks than we have heard. SS is correct - what we've heard is political jousting so that both sides can save face in a divorce.

There was a time, I believe, when Irsay genuinely wanted Manning. But once Manning realized it was basically for Irsay to parade Manning around as a show pony for one final farewell tour, I think the relationship from both sides has soured. I mean maybe there's some hope for reconciliation but Manning believes he can still play and he wants to. Right now that's more likely to happen out of Indy

Never thought I'd see the day that a team willing to keep Peyton Manning on it's roster was considered breaking news.

I don't think I've ever agreed more with you than this moment, Tripp.
