You underestimate a healthy PM. If he is not good enough to make the redskins a contender then explain why the Colts are 2-14 without him and a Super bowl contender with him?
The Redskins are not just any QB upgrade away from being a Super bowl contender but they may be the right QB away.
If the Colts are such a SB contender with him why are they letting him hit the open market. Hmmmmm???? Hmmmmmm????

A lot of you guys are in love with the 30 year old Manning. The guy is not that anymore, he will come here stink and again egg will be on our face.
You know how you look at Oakland, Arizona, Cleveland, etc... and say god those are awful franchise, hello McFly that is how the rest of the football world views the Redskins.

It amazes still how delusion some fans are as to where this team is. If you beleive we are a PM away from a Super Bowl then you need to put the bottle down.
I be surprised if we are a wild card team next year.
I don't think anyone is saying we are a PM away from winning a SB. I can speak for myself and say we are 1 good QB away from getting to the playoffs or at the least having a 500+ record. Anyone who plays better and makes better decisions then Grossman and Beck should be able to do that. PM included.... if he can play.
I think it's amazing how we as a fan base are so far apart and possibly to the extreme when it comes to where this team really is.
Some say we are no where near getting to the play offs. Pessimist.
Others say we are not that far off. Optimist.
I can tell you somewhere in between the truth lies. I'm not saying we are close because we beat the Giants twice (although it sounds nice), I'm not saying it because we have MS. I'm saying it based off of the teams play on the field. No different then others here love to say "we were a 5-11 team and we are a few yrs off". All I'm saying is I think we are closer then you think.

hmmm..... And the skins are not that? The skins played better then the year before, the ol got better by the end of the year creating nice holes for the rb to run through, there was better protection, and we beat the sb champs twice. <- i now that may not mean much but it shows the skins can contend.
3rd year in the same system, ol understanding their assignments better, combined with a really good run game, and i don't care what anyone says our defense was one of the best limiting teams to 20 or less points most of the time. Thats what you want. Look at the patriots they gave up the most yrds all year but teams had a hard time scoring on them. Thats pretty much us. 5-11 doesn't sound like a contender but you have to look at the overall play and in most of those games the skins lost by like 3 points. Get a decent qb and decent wr's and that alone could be the difference of getting a few more 1st downs for a field goal, or even 1 more td per game.
dude right here you are saying we are a super bowl contender!
this was the quote you were answering to:
Read the fine print. He wants to play for a Super Bowl contender

I be ok with PM and a rookie QB if they both suck we go after the next great QB in the draft.
I stil lsay give Indy whatever they hell they want for Luck and be done with it.
Problem is there won't be any price. PM is as good as gone. The owner wants to start a new era. The GM on down was replaced. Their bringing in Luck to start their new era.

Yes. I can not see any scenario where PM says to himself "I have to play for the Redskins." The Skins are waaaaay too far away from being contenders and have no weapons for him to use. Manning is smart enough to recognize Washigton is just not a good option for him.
Hint of sarcasm? yes-no?
Funny I can see him thinking the other way. Especially with Montana having spoken to him telling him how good MS is along with the OL being blocking better, and 3 really decent RB's who did very well in the second half of the season. I can see him saying if they take me and pick up 1 or top WR's from free agency, draft a young QB, pick up another WR, get some OL and fix the couple of holes they have on defense the Skins could go pretty far. I think he's pretty smart too to recognize a team that is on the verge of becoming great and might want to be apart of that.

My guess is PM goes to a dark horse that is on the verge of a SB. I would not be shocked to see him in Baltimore.

I said that and so have some others. And I stand by that.
I think that you are right. Both the Giants and the Pats had some obvious holes in their rosters yet they played in the big dance. Why? In part because they had stellar QB play.
Our defense is not bad on the whole. Our running game is not bad on the whole. A big time QB makes us an instant contender - maybe not a SB winner, but a contender.
SHHHHHH. Your optimism has got to be killing those fans who don't want to see anything but doom and gloom. You also wrecking their thought that we are so far away we need to get RGIII in order to get out of this hole. Because even though he has not done anything to establish himself in the NFL he's the franchise QB we need. Even though he's not a franchise QB yet.

The answer to your question is Andrew "Best prospect since Elway" Luck. Plus they are not even sure he's healthy and have to pay him 28 million before they will know for sure. I am sure you know all this...but you did ask the question.
I am not in favor of signing Peyton as my #1 QB plan, my only objection is to the notion that the Redskins could not win with a healthy Manning. The Redskins and 31 other teams could win with him.

I don't think you can win with him anymore because he is not healthy. If he was truly healthy and his old self the Colts keep him and trade that pick for a king's ransom.
