Jsteelz @Jsteelzextreme
find it good to note that lots of scouts have Tanehill rated higher then Gabbert and Ponder last year..cant wait 4 next week guys

Found this gem to be quite interesting. Also means he's not getting out of the first round.

I don't think Hoyer is a joke but he is an unknown. What concrete evidence do we have that if given a chance, he has a solid future in this league? Who on our staff knows him? How do you a scout a player who has never seen any playing time not in the preseason? And why would an unknown be worth a third round pick?

You could ask the same questions about RG3 or any other QB in the draft for that matter.

I said a 3rd round picks mostly because the rumors are he will get either a 1st or 2nd round tender. Not sure if he's worth it, but I think that's what it will take.

It's ignorant to say Hoyer is a joke

Your opinion. Until I see something to change my mind I stand by my statement of him and trading two picks to get him a joke.

Who I want: RGIII, Luck, and I could be content with "Clark Kent" Tannehill, but whomever we get I want them to be good.

He may not be a joke but he isn't worth a draft pick at this time. he reminds me of Beck, un-proven. He didn't show enough to stop the Patriots from drafting a qb last year. That's a fact.

Wow. They drafted someone to take his place when he leaves? Heavens, that must mean he's terrible.

Like I said before I would love to have either Luck or RG3, but not worth it too me to give up at least 5 high draft picks for them. Tannehill oh is real proven compared to Hoyer, a former WR turned QB. If we took him he is not a day one starter, still need a QB to start.

RG3 and Luck are not guaranteed too be good either ever heard of Akili Smith, Ryan Leaf, Jamarus Russell, Heath Schuler, Tim Couch, David Carr.

A few thoughts:

In another thread we're longing for the likes of Trent Green and Brad Johnson again...but forget they were 8th and 9th round picks who did nothing their first years in the NFL

We'll gladly spend a 2nd on Foles or Brock, but somehow trading that pick for Hoyer is tge equivalent of shooting Bambi's mother

Remember Mike Shanahan himself spent several days at Pats training camp during Hoyer's rookie season

That's really the point that needs to be made. Good players can be found lots of different places. The flippant dismissals of players because "Oh, he's been a back-up" or whatever don't get anybody anywhere. Luckily the team is being run by people who will judge players on their indivdual merits and not silliness like that.

I never said I would trade 5 high picks for anyone.
