The Board of Supervisors this week agreed to raise fines to up to $1,000 for anyone who throws a football or a Frisbee on any beach in Los Angeles County.

Your kids could also end up costing you big bucks: the ordinance also prohibits digging any hole deeper than 18 inches into the sand except where permission is granted for film and TV production services only

lol....place is such a crap hole. Hey, they need somebody to pay for that debt they are in and the rich folks(and movie industry) sure aren't going to do it.

this place is backwards. it's a trip. solving the money problem is a no brainer, it has to do with crops and the jobs, taxes, and revenue that those crops would generate.

I live here, have done since '95, and it's not as bad as it's portrayed.

Get rid of the Dems and it would stablize real fast.

i can't stand that there are no clover leaf interchanges. the clover leaf had been around 20 years before these freeways were built. sometimes you have to go under the freeway and make a right turn, sometimes you have to go under the freeway and make a left turn, sometimes you have to wait at a light, sometimes you don't...

hey guys! I got a great idea. Let's allow wall street to run free, kill our deficit with insane amounts of military spending on faux wars and continue to give rich and corporations huge tax breaks all the while destroying jobs in our very country.

I wish someone would once say: "Hey, let's put partisanship aside, work with the other side, and work things so people can prosper."

Our political spectrum is full of my way or the highway politicians and people.

While that seems like a dumb law it might just make some sense. I know here in Va Beach they have laws like that because there is just no room for throwing a football or a Frisbee. People were getting smacked in the face by both footballs and frisbee's then you had the issue of people running to catch them while looking up. The hole only 18 inches could be for trip reasons or maybe they had a few deaths from a hole caving in on a kid.

Now if you go down to Hags Head or other areas of Va Beach you have plenty of room and it not an issue.
