Would you have any concerns about giving him a big money contract based on little we've seen from him? Well, as to your first point, that's what I am talking about. Just because he was a 7th round pick out of college does not mean that he has not learned and improved. We have some empirical evidence that he can play in the NFL, and play effectively. Second point, my thinking is that the market for him is more in line for a medium money contract. He has not earned a big money deal yet, which is part of the attraction in my mind. Why cant the Redskins take a player on the way up, instead of one on the way down (i.e. Peyton Manning). Bottom line, I just fail to see the logic of ruling him out altogether as an option right now.
