I'm gonna say Grossman is pride. Redskin attitude is that Rex MUST be good; he HAS to be good; we KNOW he is better than what we have seen so far! For goodness sake, the Redskins signed him to play QB, we know he can PLAY the position. We're too proud to admit otherwise.

We would have drafted Grossman if it weren't for Spurrier being locked in the laundry closet!

We also would have drafted Jimmy Clausen at the #4 spot in 2010 had Vinny still been around.

The point was made earlier about our system being able to protect the QB even without superior talent on the offensive line. That was something Spurrier could never grasp; Patrick Ramsey got hammered every time he threw the football. Spurrier tried to pass it off as Ramsey holding the football too long. While that may have been true at times, SS and staff could never figure out how to protect the QB in 2003. Sack totals did not reflect the extent of the pounding that poor Ramsey took that season. I think SS developed his game plans while locked in aforementioned laundry closet, or he drew up his plays in his oatmeal at the gameday breakfast. What a disaster that was!

I think the Shanaclan has pass protection in good order; we need a little more depth on the offensive line, and Redskins should be solid in that area of the game regardless of who plays QB.

Spurrier will forevermore live as the "What's this" guy, in reference to hail.

Well I'm not saying we're going to sign him, but I am saying what I've already told you. We've got an eye on this situation and would definitely be interested in bringing him to compete

Who? ;)

I'll take Manning or Orton and a drafted prospect over Clausen...just never liked the guy as an NFL caliber QB.

Who does Carolina have behind Clausen? What incentive do they actually have to get rid of him?
