SFREDSKIN 02-03-2012, 11:31 PM Luck is not coming here. I have no idea why anyone is even talking about that option. He's 99.9% going to Indy.
More like 100%. Manning is done in Indy and they would the stupidest team in the planet to trade or not draft Luck.

Exactly. I have that mindset all the time until smootsmack gives us the latest Luck rumor, then I wait for comments like these and I'm back to being realistic.
SmootSmack 02-04-2012, 12:17 AM Always said it's a longshot. But it's not 100%. It's not necessarily going to be any easier to trade to #2 than #1
Orton = Grossman in my book. Gets drafted by the Bears and doesn't turn out to be a franchise QB, gets traded to the Bronco's and does not do very well turns out he's not a franchise QB otherwise they would not have traded him to KC where amazingly enough turns out he was not their answer to having a franchise QB.
I don't t see the novelty and hope the coaching staff does not either.
Might want to check his numbers in Denver, he played well in '09 and '10 before Tebow-mania took over. And he wasn't traded to KC, they picked him up on waivers a few weeks after Cassel got hurt. He's not a franchise QB but he's a solid vet. We could do a lot worse, like Grossman/Beck.

Question is: why wasn't Grossman and Beck on waivers?
That Guy 02-04-2012, 07:25 AM signing orton makes sense in that we'll have a "starter" so it'll be harder to fleece us in a trade, and we can send him with the picks to trade up and make the other team feel better about having SOMEONE that can play QB if they need one.
as part of jockeying for a top 2 pick, this is a good idea... as far as getting him as our 2012 starter... that would be awful.
#56fanatic 02-04-2012, 08:50 AM Kyle Orton wins games. I am not sure how I feel about it yet, but he is like the Rodney Dangerfield of NFL QB's. He is accurate, has a pretty good arm, and is really looking to make a mark as a starting QB. If we sign him, I wouldn't be upset. That would give us the starting QB we want, plus we can use the picks to build talent. We could still land a QB in the 3rd round.

Since you put it that way. I'm all in for Orton and a 3rd round QB. I'll be in a pickle next year, again.
mlmdub130 02-04-2012, 10:42 AM That's what I'm saying. Orton is basically the same guy has Grossman. Just don't see any reason why we'd sign him.
i wouldn't say that, i think he is one slight notch above grossman, his overall numbers are slightly better and his td to int ratio is worlds better. grossman has 56 td's to 60 int's for his career, thats just god awful, it's hard to say anyone else is that bad. that said i don't want orton here, the last time he was in fedex he got benched for chris simms if i'm not mistaken, talk about terrible qb's.

Yeah, because he got hurt. I remember him burning us on a bomb to Marshall and we probably lose that game if he didn't get hurt.
