i wanted to root for the pats but the giants are like a brother

Sorry but no way.. I will never root for another NFCE team to win a SB. So if Dallas was in it you would root for them too? Also they now have 4 to our 3 putting us behind them.

I would root for a team of cannibals before I'd root for the Cowboys but that has nothing to do with the division.

If the Cowboys were the only team in football, i'd invest my interest in the Washington Kastles.

Sour grapes? I was pulling for the Giants you dope.

I know you are a Giants fan which is why I'm going to forgive your ability to comprehend what I said.

Yes, the Giants did underperformed in 2007 when they won the Super Bowl. In fact, it was by the skin of their teeth they made it in, and Coughlin was on the hot seat and was all but fired had they not made it to the playoffs. They had a better road record than they did at home.

If your coach is about to get fired, THAT is huge sign of under performing. They had the talent to have had the best record in the NFC the past few years, yet come stumbling into the playoffs with a 9-7 record or miss the playoffs in other years.
I understood what you said but what you said makes no sense.First you and "some" others keep harping on Coughlin getting fired that might have been true in 07 Mara says no but it was the media pushing it this time around Coughlin was'nt close to losing his job,if some of you go back a few pages and threads (years) you will see that I admit I did'nt like Coughlin when he came to the Giants but he has won over the players and myself, and I have said ...somewhere in here that I thought this year was his best coaching job yet...and that was before the playoffs started.
You say the Giants unders performed ...how, I mean what is it you think we should have done,Greenbay , New England ,The Saints ,the 49's,all have had their problems but all great teams records you harp on records yet it has been proven again and again that once you are in the playoffs your regular season record means crap! What some of the stats firstdown is throwing out there means is just how hard it is to win the Super bowl...hell just get to it.You need to be healthy, you need to have talent, you need good coaching,....you also need team chemistry and yes some luck also but it all has to hit at the right time .Did the Patriots under perform this year,or were they lucky to get past the Ravens?

But that's the thing. Both times the Giants have won the Super Bowl, they were playing for the wild card/division title the last game of the season. THAT is what I'm referring to by under performing. They should have been steamrolling the NFC East with ease the past few years seeing how shitty Philly, Cowboys, and the Skins have been. But nooooo....they are just squeaking by to get into the playoffs and other years not even making it. TOO much talent on that squad to be playing like that. It's like they half ass it during the regular season until they are almost eliminated then they decide to start playing. They should have been playing like that all along. (much like Green Bay did this year)

I said I gave the Giants a pass this year with the injuries and FA losses, and even thought they would be at the bottom this year due to those things. However, it still doesn't excuse their shitty regular season showing year in and year out.

Also, yes the regular season does mean a lot. It decides on whether you make the playoff or not, whether you have home field advantage or not. I realize that it's a one game elimination and that many times the better team does not win the Super Bowl.

Personally, I thought the Patriots over-achieved this year. I didn't think they'd do as well as they did having the type of defense they did. However, as shitty as their yards/game allowed was, they manage to keep their points/game allowed to middle of the pack which is probably why they did succeed.

edit: Not just "some" luck involved in winning a super bowl, there is a LOT of luck involved.

No idea what any of this has to do with Peyton Manning being cleared to play so let's just put a close to this thread
