Wow, I didn't know Steve Young commented on P.Manning last week or about M.Shanahan....
Steve Young thinks Peyton Manning to the Redskins is a fit - DC Sports Bog - The Washington Post (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/dc-sports-bog/post/steve-young-thinks-peyton-manning-to-the-redskins-is-a-fit/2012/02/08/gIQAY0pNzQ_blog.html?wprss=dc-sports-bog)
“I assume that by draft time, he’ll be a Washington Redskin, or, I don’t know what else.”
A bit later, he said this.
“I think it becomes a coach-quarterback relationship. It’s gonna be somebody [like] a Mike Shanahan. You look at those guys around that really understand quarterbacks, they’re gonna be able to take advantage of all Peyton’s talents, and then you need to be a team that doesn’t have an answer right now....I expect that the move will be a team that just needs that guy, that hasn’t had that guy, and Peyton will be that guy.”

i still wear my terry allen starter jersey with the nameplate removed by seam ripper. i won't buy another jersey until teams can choose their manufacturer and prices are competetive again. how much does a replica cost these days?

The Cards signed QB coach Frank Reich, Peyton's coach for the past 6 seasons. That is all.

Shefter said they hired Reich as WR coach. That's odd.

If Peyton Manning actually does come to DC, do you think we'll go after RG3 as well? ...and if we do go after RG3, do we trade up to the #2 pick to get him or hope he falls to 6?
Im actually starting to believe that its at least a 75% chance Peyton signs with the Skins with all these rumors floating around.
I think that we won't trade up but we might nab him if he falls to #6, which is quite possible IMO.
I like the PM scenario where we trade down, nabbing an extra second round pick. Then before the end of the second round we use our three picks to draft a WR, an OT, and a QB for the future.

I like that plan. Get Manning, trade down, get Tannehill with our first rounder, Dwight Jones in the second round and instead of OL, id like to go secondary (CB) here with the acquired pick. Get a seasoned pro olineman in FA to protect Peyton Manning, not some second or third round rookie.

Plus, I believe our Oline is on the upswing, and will be even better this upcoming year than this past season. Jamaal Brown has to get better, I dont think he can do any worse than he did last year, plus, its an additional year in the system, with the opportunity to come into the year fully healthy and with a full offseason.
