The Tony Banks to Shane Matthews transition doesn't make you all tingly inside?

I'd love either scenario... Things will be much clearer in the coming weeks as Mannings fate is decided.

Question for SS, if Manning is released prior to his bonus date, which precedes the league year beginning, can teams speak to him/evaluate his status prior to free agency?

As I understand it yes.

And thank you to SC for his collaboration on this.

I agree, you gotta have a QB. You also have to have people who can do something with the ball after he throws it to them, the Skins dont have that either. If they can get Luck or Bradford for a reasonable price than I say do it.

I also dont have a problem with trading Orakpo as part of this because you have to trade value to get value.

There is almost no price I wouldn't pay for Luck...for Bradford I would expect to pay a little less since last season had to hurt his value somewhat.

I do agree that we probably need a true #1 WR...but as I keep saying I don't think it's fair to draw any conclusions overall on what we have at WR in light of our awful QB play. WR in general with very few exceptions are a product of the QB and the efficiency of the overall offense. Look at the Colts WR production without Manning. And does anyone really think if Jordy Nelson were a Redskin last year he would have been productive? No...he would have been about as productive as Niles Paul was...

I don't like the idea of trading Orakpo. Don't like it at all.

Neither do I, but look at the NFL playoffs, if you do not have a QB you are not making a run at a Superbowl. I love Orakpo, but if we can get Luck........... SEE YA!!!!!

In no particular order
Rogers
Manning
Stafford
Ryan
Brady
Rothlesberger (sp)
Flacco

That is 7 of your top 10 QB's in this league and 2 of them are going to the big game.

Dont be stupid people.

Orakpos a good player, but his value doesn't even approach that of a franchise qb.

Bradford > orakpo and our 1st round pick.

Luck > our first and 2nd this year, 1st next year, orakpo, and Trent Williams.

We are not going to get a franchise qb without giving up ALOT.

Bingo

Kyle Shanny said on the radio on Fri that he didnt think Rex played too bad. He said Rex had waaaaay too may turnovers but did move the ball pretty good. He felt the bigger problem was that once Rex completed a pass it was usually not run for many yds and never had a pass run in for a TD. He felt that QB was one of the many areas where the Skins needed to improve.

I never got the impression the Skins let BJ walk, it seemed to me they told him to take a hike when they brought in Jeff George.
I think this sums up most Skins personnel decisions since JKC's death. In his one full starting season here, Johnson threw for over 4000 yards and had a qb rating of 90. But he wasn't a "franchise qb" so he was kicked to the curb for a sexy former number 1 overall pick. Johnson went on to win a Super Bowl and the Skins keep cycling through qb's.

Brad Johnson choked in the playoffs and the attention was turned to Jeff George the gunslinger.
