Weeden.

I can't find it now but earlier today I read how Dallas owner J.Jones (I think) interviewed Weeden because they are looking to upgrade. Don't know what that says about Romo but JJ said he liked Weeden because Weeden is not young and immature, he has a strong arm, can make all the throws, and they are looking for a QB who can pick up the play calls quickly. JJ said they were impressed with how fast he picked up the Redskins play calls.

Then there is this....
Weeden making waves at Senior Bowl - Big 12 Blog - ESPN (http://espn.go.com/blog/big12/post/_/id/44513/brandon-weeden-making-waves-at-senior-bowl)

I just think Weeden is building a report with our coaching staff and showing what he can do. On top fo that he will already somewhat know our basic system prior to the draft which means he won't have too much more to learn before the season. I believe there is specific rumors being spread to throw everyone off about what we will do in the draft and in the end the coaches will take Weeden because they will be impressed with him and he will already know the system. Plus we will have a full compliment of picks to build around him.

Here it is....
Random Thoughts from Senior Bowl - Dallas Cowboys Blog - ESPN Dallas (http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/cowboys/post/_/id/4689800/random-thoughts-from-senior-bowl)

1. The Cowboys are doing their due diligence regarding the quarterback position. I don't believe the Cowboys will draft one, but they did interview Oklahoma State's Brandon Weeden on Sunday. Jerry Jones said if the team picks up a quarterback, it has to be a veteran who can move quickly in the offense. Weeden's age, 28, means he's a little more mature than some rookie quarterbacks and he picked up the Washington Redskins offensive terminology pretty quickly during practices here.

You know what? I'm changing my answer to Weeden. He seems like a Shanny kind of guy. They'll be great for each other.

If we draft Weeden we better draft another QB as well. Call me "ageist" but I don't want a 29 year old rookie at quarterback.

I think Weeden could start next season and probably for the next 8-10 seasons with little injuries and would buy the Skins time to pick up a young WR next year or with in the next few yrs to develope. I also like the QB from the North Cousins which if still available could be taken say the second round. I'll get torn apart but .... take Weeden in the 1st and Cousins in the 2nd.

For some people that might be too much Rookie QBing. lol. I'd imagine if they let our two active QB's go they will want to fill one spot with a vet, then another with a top draft pick, then possibly a late rounder or UDFA.

I also am interested *Brock Osweiler (http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1664777/brock-osweiler) only because he's like 6-7 240. I think some reports are he does not look gangly and awkward like someone that tall would. I would look to take him maybe 3rd or 4th round. This option would give us Weeden in 1st round to ensure we got him. Maybe a WR in the 2nd, possibly take the 3rd rounder and trade back for more picks and take Osweiler for developement. Then look to fill the FS, DB, OL, LB, DL.

Weeden is not worth the 6th pick at all. If we can't get RGIII or Luck in the first and don't trade down (which I don't see happening) take Blackmon/Claiborne/Richardson at 6 and if he's your guy take Weeden in the 2nd and Lindey/Osweiler/Wilson in the 4th.

I'm warming up to Weeden.

I voted for RG3. This is what I want...and I think this is MS/KS's plan A.

Plan B is to get Kirk Cousins with our 2nd round pick (if Blackmon falls to us at #6).

Here's the dilema... everyone said Andy Dalton wouldn't get taken in the first two rounds. He was supposed to be a 3rd or 4th round QB. He was taken higher.

My fear is our coaching staff gets to know him, get to liking him, decides he's their man, he understands some of the offense, they decide to take him in the 2nd round and someone like Miami or someone else takes him prior.

If the coaching staff likes him and they don't want to waist picks to move up then I'm happy with them taking a QB they think will get the job done at #6 no matter what everyone else thinks. I would love for the team to trade back get more picks and still get Weeden. I hope that is what happens. But my 6th sense tells me they will take him at #6. Then maybe take a WR in the 2nd to compliment Hankerson. Somewhere in there trade back for more picks, try for one of those level 2 school NT's, FS/CB, LB, and OL.
