Weeden will turn 29 during the season. Again no thanks.
Predict Who Will Be The Next Redskins QB (Not Necessarily the QB You Want)EARTHQUAKE2689 01-26-2012, 07:46 PM Weeden will turn 29 during the season. Again no thanks. REDSKINS4ever 01-26-2012, 09:29 PM I like the idea of trading back and selecting Weeden in the middle of the first round. Forget this man's age. He's pro ready now. I also like the idea of RG3 falling to us at #6. But I wouldn't mind trading up and taking Griffin III with the 2nd or 3rd selection if the Rams or Vikings can work out a deal with the Redskins. redskins5044 01-26-2012, 09:34 PM LOL areu someone offical for the colts? There is such thing as a restructuring a contract to accomidate a trade. I would eat 28 mil for two additonal first rounders. esp in a rebuild effort No but it is common sense and they would have a cap hit I believe the following year too. They will not trade manning, it would be dumb. There is no way they would get 2 1st rounders for him either. Dirtbag59 01-26-2012, 09:57 PM Weeden will turn 29 during the season. Again no thanks. Weeden as a 3rd round pick would be a steal. mbedner3420 01-26-2012, 10:02 PM Who made this poll at the top? Luck is the only option in italics... Clue from Smootsmack? Dirtbag59 01-26-2012, 10:06 PM Who made this poll at the top? Luck is the only option in italics... Clue from Smootsmack? Italics indicates who you voted for. Tannehill is in italics for me. skinsfaninok 01-26-2012, 10:07 PM Weeden as a 3rd round pick would be a steal. he's a guy that can start day 1 while a true youngster waits mbedner3420 01-26-2012, 10:13 PM Italics indicates who you voted for. Tannehill is in italics for me. Damn! I thought I was on to something there. CultBrennan59 01-26-2012, 10:22 PM Weeden will turn 29 during the season. Again no thanks. again Kurt Warner entered the league at 28... mooby 01-26-2012, 10:23 PM Wow, you are soooo far off, he's only 28. lol. It's not a matter of will he play into his 40's. Thats not what we need him for. Luck will be gone. I personally think RGIII will be also. I think the Browns will have more ammo for him but I'm not fond of tossing a 1st and 2nd rounder this year and a 1st and 3rd next year to get RGIII. We hinder ourselves until the 3rd round. Right now Weeden is learning our offense. He's practicing very well in it. He can make all the throws we need him to make which means by getting quality weapons around him our team will win games. Because he's already learned some of the system it will be easier to learn the rest plus he will be several steps ahead of RGIII. The team would have to start from scratch in June when the Rookies are allowed to show up vs. Weeden already knowing some of the plays and cough cough possibly already having a play book to learn the rest by June. Weeden would only need to play 5 yrs giving the team time enough to find a really decent Rookie in the next 2 yrs to start to develope for the future. You see, Weeden buys the team time to get the franchise QB you'd like them to get especially since maybe next year will have more QB's declaring. 28, 29, shit I think a 25 year old rookie quarterback is old. I'll keep a long story short and just say I don't want him. If I take a quarterback with a 1st or 2nd round pick in the draft I expect him to hold down the position for a decade if he proves to be good. Even if Weeden proves to be good nobody knows how long he'll last. He could be done by 35, nobody has any clue. And LOL at your "he's already learned some of the system." He's had 4 days in the system, and if you think you can judge his future here by 4 days in the system then you are a smarter man than I. I'm not saying I don't like Weeden to play good football for the next 5 years, I think he's capable of doing that. I just don't want to make him a "rookie bridge" for a few years until we find that elite qb we all want. It will take a 2nd round pick to get him, and I think that's too high of a price to pay for a stop gap rental. We could have an impact starter right now with that 2nd round pick we gave up for McNabb two years ago. |
