Can't blame Morris cause the players were too young and immature.

......how old is Rhonda Barber?

So you can't blame a young head coach for not coaching his own players???

I havent had time to read every post so sorry if i repeat anything:

Hasslett had been considered a HC canidate to some degree (not my opinion). I would have thought that Morris could have gotten a better job had he waited for all the HC vacancies to be filled. So maybe because of his relationship with Allen and the possability of Hasslett leaving in the next couple of years Morris liked the potential for oppertunity in DC.

.

.....you do know Hasslett use to be the head Coach of the Saints?

For me it boils down to whom I would rather have: Morris, or Jackson? I'd rather have Morris, because I think his experience leading 53 guys for 3 seasons will make the transition to coaching 10 or so guys a lot easier. Plus he has a good argument for being a position coach, just not a head coach. People say our secondary really wasn't that much of a problem last year, but I remember it letting us down in key moments and also all the big time quarterbacks that carved us up. I was in "wait and see" mode in regards to their personnel decisions at the start of the season, but they failed once again in those regards. I trust Raheem Morris to find guys that he thinks will excel in what he wants his db's to do, because as has been said, finding talent wasn't his problem, it was how he communicated with that talent in order to get them to do what he wanted. And it should be easier with 10 guys instead of an entire locker room.

Maybe it's one of Tiki's twin daughters that his ex-wife had after he dumped her for that 23 year old model?

Don't know what to think about this. Morris did a really crappy job of coaching his team last season. He's also totally overqualified to be a DB's coach at this point in his career.

We've tried underqualified at every rung on the organizational ladder over the last 20 years. Overqualified doesn't sound so bad at this point.

Our current DBs don't really lend themselves to coaching, necessarily. Barnes and Westbrook are going to be in contract years. Everyone else is a veteran.

Good point. Why have a DB coach at all? I nominate DHall for DB Player/Coach...

"Ok DBs gather round!! Here's today's agenda:

First I'm gonna teach you the 15-yd cushion off the LOS. I especially like to use this tactic when the opponent is faced with 3rd and 5.

Next I'll show you how to lay the wood on a guy when he's already 5 yds out of bounds. You will likely get a 15-yd penalty but your teammates will be pumped.

Finally I will teach you how to trash talk a receiver after he spins you around 3 times and beats you for a 30-yd reception. It takes a special skill to do that and I will teach you that skill."

I guess the validity of this move depends on who the Redskins bring in at defensive back.

Not sure what one has to do with the other.

This is the single least talked about story this season. Our secondary actually had a good year. Wasn't stellar, but time and time again a lot of our sacks attributed to good coverage. The numbers point to Rak and Kerrigan getting to the QB, but like yourself, I noticed on several occasions the QB just couldn't find an open receiver.

False.

Could the Vikes offer the DC position to Morris?

AdamSchefter Adam Schefter
Jaguars defensive coordinator Mel Tucker turned down an offer from the Minnesota Vikings to remain in Jacksonville as the DC.

True, but only later in the year......early on they were vulnerable - despite the strong, defensive start.

Once they got it together, the secondary was very good. There is more to coaching than technique, however.....this team kind of quit when they were eliminated from playoff contention.
