skinsguy 01-12-2012, 09:39 AM True enough. I should have left out the potshot at christianity. I'll save it for Off-Topic sections. :FIREdevil LOL! Fine! NC_Skins 01-12-2012, 10:54 AM By your logic, the Shula kids should have been GREAT coaches because we KNOW that they spent time with Dad watching film and being part of the team and all that apprenticeship stuff. You only surmise that Mike Brown did that and thereby learned about football. Both Shula kids failed as coaches despite their heritage, their immersion in the game etc. One does not necessarily absorb knowledge and comptence just by being around knowledgeable and competent folks. If it were so, there would be only brilliant people coming out of universities. Look, you can dislike Jerry Jones all you want because he owns the Cowboys and he has upstaged Danny Boy on more than one front over the years. I will even agree with you that his decisions as GM for the Cowboys have been spotty at best. But to say he is a know-nothing makes little sense. Apparently you didn't read what I said. So does this knowledge make him a great owner/GM? Hell no. One of the most knowledgeable people in the league was Al Davis and he was a horrible owner/GM the past decade. <---in referencing Mike Brown/Al Davis I clearly made the point that just because you have the knowledge doesn't mean you are going to succeed. You guys act like all it takes is great football smarts and BAM they are a instant success. Every coach in the NFL will tell you flat out that it takes a lot of luck. LUCK. CHANCE. Random factors that are beyond a coaches control. Injuries, players reaching his full potential beyond coaching, players available, impatient owners, etc.. There are so many other variables out there that go beyond just having "knowledge" in that area. You can be the smartest football mind in the world and still be dealt a bad hand and you fail. You could be a average football mind and be dealt a great hand and be legendary. It happens in life all the time. I don't hate Jerry Jones and as a Skins fan, I want him to continue destroying the Dallas Cowboys. Yes, he knows a hell of a lot more than Dan Snyder, but he's still not qualified to be a GM based on his lack of experience/coaching throughout his life. If Jerry didn't own his own team, he wouldn't sniff a GM's position in the NFL. Also, the Shula kids know more about football than you and I. NC_Skins 01-12-2012, 11:27 AM Raiders owner Mark Davis is in over his head - NFL - Yahoo! Sports (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ms-silver_oakland_raiders_hue_jackson_mark_davis_0111 12) "Mark,” Davis said, stopping the meeting and sounding genuinely interested. “What do you think we should do?” Mark Davis at Tuesday's news conference to introduce Reggie McKenzie. (AP Photo) Caught off guard, the younger Davis mumbled something about needing a wide receiver. Wrong answer. “A [expletive] receiver?” Al Davis snapped, his voice rising. “Get the [expletive] out of here.” :laughing2 I could see Al telling his son that. skinsguy 01-12-2012, 12:31 PM Apparently you didn't read what I said. <---in referencing Mike Brown/Al Davis I clearly made the point that just because you have the knowledge doesn't mean you are going to succeed. I don't know of a single soul on this forum that believes it takes no management skills and all football mind to make an organization great. It takes quite a bit of both, but it also takes a good front office of people who can work together to make it happen. Gano broke back against Philly (http://www.csnwashington.com/01/11/12/Gano-broke-back-against-Philly/landing.html?blockID=629088&feedID=10316) Broke his back in two places and still played the rest of the game. Good bye middle class fans!! Thats also the Great thing about Jerry World down here, the real fans get priced out and cant go to a game, so the cocain and boob job crowd buy up all the tickets and sit in there like they are at the Opera all nice and quite!! Jerry World will never be a home field advantage cause loud rednecks cant go. Unlike the Skins, most teams dominate the Cowboys in there. Danny boy is licking his chops for his time to come with a new stadium. All those STH's better enjoy it while they can because most of them are going to lose their seats due to insane SBLs. skinsguy 01-12-2012, 03:37 PM I can assure you. I don't think you'll have to worry about that anytime soon. They're practically begging people to purchase season tickets. I get calls all the time about purchasing season tickets and how they would put me on a payment plan and so forth. If I lived closer to DC, I might would consider it, but there's no way I'd do it now. SirClintonPortis 01-12-2012, 04:38 PM Raiders owner Mark Davis is in over his head - NFL - Yahoo!
