YOu said the Skins were going to be the NIners of 2012. That would mean that they kept their maligned QB and coached him up to become a Pro Bowl caliber QB that would lead them to the NFC Championship. I didn't say that; you did. So, I asked which of the two maligned Skins' QBs would be the one to "become the Alex Smith of 2012"?

If you change the subject to be the Bengals, then the best the Skins could do would be to make it as a wildcard and go one and done in the playoffs. But that is not what you implied in your original posting.

If I said that Harbaugh was a college coach - - and I do not recall ever entering a discussion here on that point - - I would be literally correct. He was a college coach in more than one venue. While I never expected him to beas successful as he has been in his first year on the job in SF, I doubt that I ever disparaged his coaching abilities for one simple reason:

I admire what he accomplished in his stops at San Diego State (?) and Stanford.

For the record, I am happy to see that you do not have either John Beck or Rex Grossman having a season in 2012 akin to the one Alex Smith had in 2011. Sure, it could happen; but the probability is vanishingly small.

Sorry if I misled you, I'm not an English major like you probably are . Everyone and their mother knows that Beck and Grossman will not do what Smith, it has to be a different QB.

It's all just a part of the maturation process. Every talented young player gets arrested at some point early in their careers. That's why there's nothing to see here folks, move along. :pimp:

Media darlings Aaron Rogers and Drew Brees lost. Too bad! Ha!
It is a fact the NFL changed the rules of the game over the last 10 to 15 years years to increase passing. Allowing offensive lineman to hold, denying DB's any contact on receivers after 3.5 yards from scrimmage and all of the rules to protect Qb's and defenseless recievers . Now we have Qb's breaking records right and left and the media wants us to to believe it is all that these QB's are better than the ones that played before. Wrong. There are great players on defense in the NFL as well.
Well now there is justice. The teams that have bought into the NFL's attempt to make the NFL a "QB driven league" and are hyper dependent on throwing the ball are getting beat in the playoffs. Balanced teams that run the ball as many times as they pass and commit to running the ball are doing well. Atlanta that gave away most of their draft picks for ONE WR are at home. They thought they were one WR away from the promise land. NO.
NOW we already have media bitches today saying a Ravens vs. 49ers SB would be boring. Well Tom Terrific and the Pats are 0-2 against teams over .500 recors this year.
Ravens can beat them because they have a running game and a good defense. Which New England defense will show next weekend? The one that played a weak Tebow offense or the one that got slammed all season this year? I say the bad one.

I believe the Pats are only giving up an average of 18 points a game over the last 9, but I agree with your premise. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a mirror image of the game they played a few years. Ravens style of running the ball, dominating time of possession and playing great D is the perfect kryptonite for the Pats style of play.

If you look at his career, then you are absolutely right. However if you isolate this past year he is a legitimate Pro Bowl caliber QB. Weather or not he can sustain that type of success remains to be seen but right now he's legit. He was like the 8th or 9th best quarterback in the NFC this year. Granted, that may be good enough to make the pro bowl these days.
