Here's the funny thing though. The 49ers have been an after thought in the Bay Area for the last 10 years. Hell, not even KNBR would talk about them, they'd still cover and pontificate about the Giants months after their season has ended smack dab in the middle of the NFL season. You use to see 49er jerseys everywhere, until most of those fair weather fans jumped ship to the Raiders once they became the hot team, now you hardly see any 49er jerseys. But after this weekend, it's going to be the 1980's all over again. Fair weather fans will tuck away their Raider Jerseys and put on their 49er jerseys. I have no escape becase my fiance is a die-hard 49er fan, so I've softened on them a bit.

I'm on the same boat, my wife is a native San Franciscan, my kids like the 49ers (blasphemy) and I have to hear her relatives and my friends. Meanwhile, for the last 20 years I watch the Redskins and have to hear my wife say they suck, will they ever win? All I want is to one day recapture the 80's and tell everyone around here to **** off!!

Different teams pats were loaded that year colts are not

#Hail to the Redskins

If you switched Brady and Manning. He would have just as many Super Bowl rings if not more.

Brady on the other hand would be lucky to have that one.

Colt's defense has always been the reason they never made any noise in the playoffs. You can't say the Patriots were stacked that year, because they were the same team the year prior and the year after. In fact, they went 10-6 the year he came back. I think you give Brady too much credit for some of those wins. In fact, I do believe Vinateri was responsible for winning 2 of those Super Bowls himself. (even in the prior playoff games)

There has never been a QB in the NFL on the level of Manning. I've never seen a QB in my life dissect defenses the way this guy has. Mind you, I've seen guys like Terry Bradshaw to Joe Montana play.

I'd say Montana is a better QB than Brady.

I understand. I get taunted by Saints fans. For an older fart like me, it is unbearable to face the reality that fans of the Saints have the upper hand.

but no one played better in the big games than # 16. If there was 2 minute left on the clock, and I could pick any QB, I'd pick Montana. I've seen both Brady and Peyton completely fold and throw INT's in critical playoff moments. Joe has never done anything remotely close.

I will agree with you 100% on this. I would also pick Montana if I had 2 mins on the clock and needed a TD to win.

In fact, those last 3 mins today in the San Fran game gave me flashbacks of Montana in the Super Bowl against Cincinnati.

At this point, the best outcome for Tebow would be the Rapture.

I've said it before and I'll say it again Tom Brady is the greatest qb in NFL history

#Hail to the Redskins

I would say greatest in NFL today but I wouldn't even say top ten all time. The rules today favor the passing game so much that it is hard to compare different eras. Marino, Montana, Jurgenson, Young, Kelly, Stabler, Bradshaw, Baugh and others could all get over 5,000 yards every season today. Especially throwing underneath to Welker and Gronkowski and then watching them add 50 yac.

Your crazy man Brady has never had the talent PM has had at WR and when EJ was his rb not even close.. tom had moss for a couple years that's it. Look at his wr corp and rbs over his 3 that's right 3 super bowl titles

I think it's Peyton that made the WRs. Tell me exactly what those same WRs did this past year? Nothing.

No matter which WR came into Peyton's lineup, they've done good. Hell, Branch is a huge example of that. He did great at New England, went to Seattle and shitted it up. Came back and he's decent again.

Brady (minus this year) has always had top 5 rated defenses when he won the Super Bowls. Makes a world of difference.
