I went to "Thehogs.net" and saw someone had written this...

Washington Redskins scouts have been really busy this season (http://www.thehogs.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=37458)

I like who they are looking at the small school level and especially one name struck me...

Jared Green, WR, Southern - the son of HOF Darrell Green, this kid is a burner, he ran a 4.3 at the HBCU Bowl, a burner for real

We gotta get him. Aleast bring him on board and see what we can do with him for his fathers sake. Hell he runs a 4.3/40. I also loved what his HC Stump Mitchell had to say about him...
“I wish I could have had someone with that type of speed for all four years," Stump said. "We could have had something special.”

“You have to get the ball up in the air quickly, because he is so fast," Mitchell said. "We missed some opportunities this year because of his quickness. They won’t have that problem with him at the next level.”

This from D.Green....

“There is no human in the world that played CB longer than me." Darrell Green said. "I am the only human living that played 20 years at cornerback, when I judge him, I judge him fairly, and critical, he should have an excellent career. He is not perfect, but he is equally to most of the receivers I played against in the 20 years."

I also liked this one....

Rico Wallace, WR Shenandoah University - 6'3, 210 pound WR who can catch away from his body, Joe Jacoby says he is like Art Monk, Jacoby is his coach at Shenandoah

Jared is a great kid. I know him from his high school days at Oakton. He wasn't that highly recruited coming out of high school because his offense his school ran was the power option. He definitely has talent. When I interviewed him he had an AJ Green like catch over a defender catching the ball behind the defenders back.

His knock/weakness is two things;

- He is frail, probably 165lbs the last time I saw him when he was at UVA.
- He has Hankerson hands. Meaning he'll make an amazing catch one play where it's like 'how did he catch that' to the next play where he's wide open and the ball hits him in the hands and he just drops it.

He definitely has potential with some great NFL bloodlines, that will train him well. I wouldn't get him for more than a 7th rounder though.

Either keep him with his size and use him as the speed guy down the field along with AA or get him in the gym and bulk him up a little and see if he can be another possession WR.

Well with two guys we might have twice the "how did he catch that?"
and
You mentioned he was 165lbs, the article has him at 184lbs now so he's gotten a little weight behind him since he was at UVA.

I feel like Shep should go back to school but LSU is misusing him badly.

Jared Green is a good kid, but couldn't get on the field at UVA. Just cause he's DG's kid doesn't mean he's NFL caliber.

Jared had a career year with Southern, as he hauled in 17 receptions for 307 yards and 2 touchdowns. He really has a good first step and is able to break on routes at the right time. He is not afraid to go across the middle and make a snag. He has good hands and is hard to cover on double moves, because of his speed burst. He was able to showcase that speed at the HBCU Bowl in late December and proved how difficult he is to cover.

“You have to get the ball up in the air quickly, because he is so fast," Mitchell said. "We missed some opportunities this year because of his quickness. They won’t have that problem with him at the next level.”
