No that is not I. You can find my stuff on my website with the address at the bottom of this posting.

And for the record, I am not "The Sports Curmudgeon" who makes appearances about three or four times a year on NPR Radio. That is Frank Deford of Sports Illustrated who does those commentaries. Deford is arguably the best US sportswriter of the last 50 years - he is certainly in the Top Five - and if you read even one of my articles on my website, you will realize very quickly that I am not Frank Deford!!

Hope that clears up the confusion...

I didn't really think this was you, after all this guy is the "Old Curmudgeon" while you're a young buck

I've seen your work in SportsFan Magazine at my local grocery store as well

For the record, I'm not exactly "young". I am 61 years old.

The first football game I saw was a collegiate game in 1948 (when I was 5) and there was this guy playing named Chuck Bednarik. You may have heard of him...

Wow, Curmudgeon. I totally had you pegged for late 20s! You're so riled up all the time. Either way, you're my favorite poster here at the warpath, as much as we may hate to read it most everything you post is true, or at least your unabashed opinion!

Thanks for the kind words.

When I was in my late 20s, Richard Nixon was still President, Terry Bradshaw hadn't won a damned thing yet, Vince Lombardi had just died and gasoline was about 27 cents a gallon.

I'm not actually "riled up" when I post here. I spent a lot of years (37 to be exact) as a sports referee - mainly basketball - and in that avocation I learned to "blow the whistle and call what I see". That's pretty much what I try to do here but sometimes I guess I get a bit snarky in my comments.

Nonetheless, I still think Sean Taylor is a Meathead... :D
