Also Colt McCoy, Jimmy Clausen, and Vince Young

It's like digging through the trash can trying to find quality meal.

Metal is valuable. I liken it more to along the lines of a hobo trying to find a cigarette butt that hasn't been smoked all the way. :Smoker:

He does have Kendall Wright going 7th but DHB went 7th so.

I picture it being a 1st and 2nd this draft and 1st next year. If it was only a 1st and two 2nds, I would be very surprised since Cleveland is sitting on some better draft picks.

Good point Smoot but I just saw a website that had us giving up the #6 pick the #39 pick and a 2013 2nd rounder to move up and take RGIII. If we pull that off I would be estatic.

I guess I could live with that. What is it...this years 1st, 2nd, and next yrs 2nd rounders? The question is will it be enough? Miami could out bid to try for RGIII. The Browns I'm not counting out. I mean if he's "the man" as most of you say, a franchise QB why would the Browns pass on trying to fix their QB situation for yrs to come?

The Browns should be in the driver's seat for the #2 pick if they want it. #4 and #22 works out by the proverbial draft value chart and would seem a very attractive offer for St. Louis. They only have to drop two spots, would probably still get the guy the want (unless that guy is Kahlil) and then get another starter at pick #22. That said, those high 2nds are very valuable commodities, so if the Browns aren't interested then they might be willing to deal. I'm sure StL would hold out for next year's 1st and use the threat of a Cleveland trade (real or not) as leverage. If we're just going by the chart, and assuming a pick a year from now is discounted by a round, then that is the cost to do business, which seems high, but I'm increasingly of the opinion that you should just do what it takes to get a QB assuming he's the right guy (which no one actually has any way of knowing). For that price I'd rather just do what it takes to get Luck, though that might be a complete impossibility.

Clearly what's going to happen is...

Manning will convince the Colts that they need to draft Blackmon after they lose Garcon and Wayne in FA

The Rams, already set at QB, will shore up their offensive line with Matt Kalil

The Vikings will forgot to turn in their pick and will not draft anyone at 3

The Browns will take RG3

The Bucs facing Cam Newton, Drew Brees, and Matt Ryan 6 times a year will lock up Morris Claiborne as Aqib Talib leaves for Tennessee and Ronde Barber retires

The Redskins take Andrew Luck at #6!!!!!

lol...I'll miss Ronde.

I don't think I'd label RG3 a "running QB" but I do think the gap between him and Luck is greater than others do

I think people (and possibly some scouts?) probably think that RGIII's ceiling or potential is higher than Luck's. I hate to use this example but it comes down to that Manning vs Leaf debate back in '98. I hate to use this example because of how horrible Leaf's tenure in the NFL went, but he did have the bigger ceiling and potential to be even a better QB than Peyton. It's just too bad he didn't have the drive, determination, and competitive spirit that Peyton possessed.

I find the differing perceptions between Colt McCoy and Sam Bradford interesting.

Other then McCoy playing in a much more difficult division their career production this far has been similar if not identical.

Yet everyone in this forum (and beyond) seems convinced that the Browns want to use the 6th pick or move up to replace him.
Yet very few or none seem to think that Rams sitting at No.2 will replace Bradford.

Must be good to be perceived as a franchise QB.
