Kyle Shanahan has already stated that if Hightower re-signs then the Redskins will actively seek out a fourth running back to the group.

A change of Pace in Royster
In LaMichael James we will be the gamechanger

He is not to be used as a traditional runningback. You can line him up and use him at multiple positions like a Percy Harvin, Darren Sproles, or Reggie Bush. James can be put in the slot. He would often be on the field at the same time as our other runningbacks. Defenses have to account for a player of his skillset and caliber. Making it easier for other player to get one- on- one matchups and open.

Special teams- Goodbye Banks, Hello James. This guy has breakout speed and is dangerous in open space.

I think we have the rookie wideouts needed our roster now, they just need to be coached up and seasoned. You could maybe add Eddie Royal to replace Moss and a big target like Bowe, Colston, or Jackson. However Hankerson can be that big target. Let's not mention our tighends in this equation. Not gonna happen. Shanny's calling card is getting production from anyone he puts in the backfield. They have several needs. RB isn't one of them. Maybe later in the draft.

You are basically correct. But we have wasted picks on far less. If we can get Luck by trading the farm we should do it. We can upgrade elsewhere slowly thru free agency and next years draft we can trade down some and get many good players to rebuild. If we can get Luck then it should be done.

Manning v Manning twice a year would be a prime matchup for the league.


For the league ....not for the Mannings.I will go back to the year Eli came in and they made the switch with the Chargers ,the parents did'nt even want them in the same conference back then.You can get the same press in NY by playing in the same town and stadium without going against each other (other then pre season) once every 4 years.


I also really doubt the Peyton manning needs Dan Snyders money,Woody Johnsons money is just as green.

I say go get RGIII. Don't give away the farm but be willing to part with a piece or two of heavy equipment. Right now I'm willing to give St. Louis two first and our second as well as an additional pick next year.

RGIII is a legitimate first overall talent, just so happens that he's in the same draft with a once in a generation prospect. He is the real deal, unmatched athletic ability, rocket arm, pinpoint accuracy, and a mind thats more impressive then all of that.

And as a lot of you are aware of things don't start happening until you start to get real production out of the QB position.

Anway heres how I see it, we can trade back and pick a bunch of nice pieces, draft a project like Tannehill, and risk our coach being fired provided he eeks out a .500 season. Or we could draft RGIII, give him an offensive mastermind like the Shanahans and still have a QB prospect that can excel under any coach in the league should the Shanahan experiment prove to be a failure in the near future. In other words there would be hope should we have to start over.

To me thats much better then seeing Shanahan get fired next year or the year after and being stuck with Tannehill.

Personally I think that Tannehill, with seasoning, will make a dynamic NFL franchise QB. I would add him to your mix.

I'm annoyed by the posters who come on here and say that we shouldn't trade up to get RGIII. Those of you who have posted that have either not seen enough of RGIII or have seen so much of Rex that the horror of it has blinded you. Or, you just plain don't know what you're talking about.

I've seen a lot of college QB's in my 64 years and let me clue you in: RGIII is the TRUTH. We're talking about an instant starter, a true Franchise QB, and, in time, a possible All-Pro.

I've even seen where someone on here says he's not an accurate passer. You need to go back and look at some more film on him because RGIII is one of the most accurate deep passers that I have ever seen in college football.

The only concern I have about him is that we won't be able to trade up to get him.

So Smoot... What is your opinion on the whole ESPN anchor, Manning & Saturday to the Redskins whole thing?

Oh yea, there are options, and that cetainly could happen, but in the beginning of the season, so many Qbs were suppose to come out that the Redskins were definitely going to have several choices. Now everyone stayed, Luck is out of reach and RGIII might be too expensive to trade up for.

Which does open up options for the 2nd round QB, but I just don't see how Shanahan doesn't get at least one starter right off the bat, rather Flynn, RGIII or trade.

I personally see getting one elite guy, having rex as number 2 and then someone like Tannehill or maybe even Moore as a 3rd project QB.
