ill ask this again...why do people think hoyer is anything? he was an unhyped prospect out of college who has hardly played in the nfl. why does anyone think he can be a starting qb? has he been warming the bench well or something? dont get it.

I've been hearing his name since last years draft when Kiper and McShay (mostly Kiper) kept referring to him on the First Draft Podcast. So I guess I can believe it. Then again he (Kiper) spoke of Caleb Hanie with the same type of enthusiasm as Hoyer so take it with a grain of salt.

Hoyers buzz seems to have stemmed from his reputation in practice as well as strong preseason performances.

I'm curious as to the level these QB discussions reach within the organization? are these just scouts just spitballing ideas or are these reports coming from meetings involving both shanahan and Allen?

This part of the draft process is so secret yet so interesting to me. I'm just trying to get an understanding of how it works.

At this stage, it's largely scouts and position coaches. With our season over the coordinators, head coach and management will start to dive into the process more thoroughly

Let 'Redskins will trade up for RGIII' rumors fly - CBSSports.com (http://eye-on-football.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22475988/34210720)

Hmmm does John Clayton know something...???

If RGIII is not available at 6th trade back into the middle of the 1st round and draft the G Decastro from Stanford then draft Kirk Cousins in the 2nd round to be our Qb. The guy is a winner and a natural leader. Plus we'd also have extra picks to build more depth which is what our team needs to build. HTTR! Also draft Kellen Moore in the 4th if still available.

I love the "Kerigan" trade back idea! The B&G need more of an infusion of talent at every line position as well as QB/LB/OL/DL/DB/S/WR pretty much everywhere! Closer to draft day, all on here will know every potential 1st throught 7th round picks. Will we get an extra 7th for C. Rogers?

Most mock drafts have the Browns taking Trent Richardson the explosive running back from Alabama. The Cleveland front office hasn't given up on Colt McCoy. They mentioned bringing in competition in the offseason for the QB position. It doesn't mean that they will draft Robert Griffin. Based on other teams needs, there's a good chance that Griffin will be available when the Redskins pick at #6.

Even if the Redskins wanted to trade up, Minnesota would be better suited to partner with than the Rams.

Funny how there are two sides to every story. lol. I could have sworn there was an article about the Browns owner being "infatuated" with RGIII way back in Oct. or Nov. I can't find it. Leading up to the end of the season there has been much speculation as to whats going to happen to McCoy. You get on concussion and it makes it easier for you to get a second and after it keeps getting easier with every new concussion. So I can see where the Brown would want to explore possibly taking a QB in this years draft:

Then there is Holmgren mentioning there will be QB competition next year:
Holmgren: McCoy will face quarterback competition | ProFootballTalk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/01/05/holmgren-mccoy-will-face-quarterback-competition/)

Then there is this little ditty:
Shurmur on RG3: “Good players fit in every offense” | ProFootballTalk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/12/31/shurmur-on-rg3-good-players-fit-in-every-offense/)

Shurmur being the HC might get into trouble for the comment above:
Shurmur possibly will be hearing from the league over Griffin remarks | ProFootballTalk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/12/31/shurmur-possibly-will-be-hearing-from-the-league-over-griffin-remarks/)

Whats my point.... don't rule the Browns out of wanting a QB. Too many people here seem to think that because the Browns drafted McCoy last year they won't take another QB, or that because the team needs a RB they won't take a QB. I'm telling you.... "IF" RGIII does not get taken by the Colts, there are still possibilities that the other 4 teams ahead of the Skins might take a QB. Rumor is the Rams might take him and trade Bradford or keep both because of Bradfords contract. Another rumor is the Vikes might be interested and they could draft RGIII and trade or cut Ponder.
As I pointed out the Browns are salivating at the thought of drafting RGIII so it's almost no way he'd make it past them. and lastly the Bucks. We don't know who their HC is going to be and or who that HC might want as his QB when he gets there.

Personally moving up will cost too much especially with now a limited supply of top ranked QB's waiting to be drafted. Before we had Luck, RGIII, Landry, Barkley. Two are staying in college and if we have to move up you don't think those teams ahead of us aren't thinking ...how bad does someone want RGIII?

I foresee us either taking a top WR as a weapon, especially if we get a FA QB then drafting another QB in the second round, or we move back for more picks and still do what I said.

Anyone who thinks the Browns would not strongly consider RG3 is in the minority. Most Redskins fans who want RG3 realize the Browns are the biggest obstacle. They need to trade up to have any chance of getting him...someone will either take him for themselves or trade the pick long before he gets to #6.

Not Tannehill?

Based on everything we are reading here and just a general feeling, I don't really see any chance that Tannehill falls to the 6th pick of the 2nd round. After watching Cousins in the bowl game and YouTubing some videos of him speaking with media, I would be very comfortable with him as the future Skins QB. He has a fairly strong arm plus he shows some mobility, and most of all guys follow him. He will bring the lunch pale to work everyday. Skins need more guys like that.
