The thing is Matt Flynn is going to get Kevin Kolb money for two games. Aaron Rodgers he sat but it's been said that Favre didn't mentor him. I like Manning always have, if this was 2004-2009, I'd be all for it but with the absolute garbage we have trotted out at qb for the 2 seasons with Shanny, you have to go get your drafted guy. Like Dirtbag pointed out what would we really be giving up trading what essentially maps out to a 1st and a 3rd? The next Brian Orakpo? The next Chris Cooley? I had an employee today tell me he wouldn't trade Orakpo and Cooley for a shot at a potential franchise QB. I almost fired him. I understand that McNabb and Manning are two different situations but the way the last two seasons at QB went you have to stake your reputation on a drafted QB to play now and not some mid-round groomable prospect.

One is almost certain to turn out just Average, history and numbers for 1st round QBs show that so I'll say only 1 will win a title
I could flip a coin twice, chances are one time it will land heads, the other tails. I could land heads both times. Look at the first round of the '04 draft. Rivers, Roethlisberger, Manning. If I told you before hand that 2 of them would have 2 SB titles and they would all be elite you would have laughed and said one of them is "almost certain to be average."

I wasn't arguing against trading up for RGIII. That's a fine plan. BTW you should have fired that employee for stupidity.
But Manning +Tannehill is a good plan, too.
Let me put it differently: we have so many good options for getting better at the QB position that it will be a major fail if we don't significantly improve.

I am trying to get more excited about Ryan Tannehill, I really am but I feel Luck and RGIII will be two of the elite QBs of the next generation, I just don't see that with Ryan "Clark Kent" Tannehill.

Because it normally takes longer for a Young QB to become Elite , also Manning could be a great teacher for a Rookie QB. I just think its a good fiti'm not opposed to signing him as the qb coach. i can deal with that

Why do you call him "Clark Kent"?

News on Luck.
Luck still may throw at Scouting Combine | ProFootballTalk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/02/22/luck-still-may-throw-at-scouting-combine/)
The Colts possibly don’t want Luck to throw at the Scouting Combine because they don’t want a poor showing to create the perception that Robert Griffin III may be an equal if not better choice. Or maybe Jim Irsay has up his sleeve a plan to keep Peyton Manning and trade Andrew Luck for a maximum slew of picks and/or players.
I know I know it's PFT but just thought I'd pass it along. I'm still not the type to want to throw away two drafts to get either Luck or RGIII. I had a coworker mention to me yesterday that he heard the Skins were possibly trying to make a trade with NE. Again it's all rumor I have not evidence so I probably shouldn't mention it but am wondering if anyone else heard it. That the Skins were looking to put a package of picks possibly the 2nd round and 3rd round to move up to the NE's late 1st round pick. I presume the idea was to use the 2 first round picks as trade bait to equal out the Browns 2 first round draft picks so we could try and get RGIII.
Again it was a rumor from a coworker. I didn't put much stock in it and he didnt' tell me where he heard it or read it. I'm just asking if anyone else heard the same thing and if anyone knows if there is any merrit in it.

Another interesting write up.
14 of 15 NFL scouts prefer Luck to Griffin III | ProFootballTalk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/02/21/14-of-15-nfl-scouts-prefer-luck-to-griffin-iii/)
Griffin’s size and college system were held against him. Luck is the safer choice, and scouts often play it a little safer than decision makers like general managers and coaches.
That’s probably the biggest knock against Griffin. He doesn’t fit the prototypical quarterback mold, which makes life a little more uncomfortable for the teams that draft him.
