What about this scenario: Rams get the #1 pick but the Browns trade up to get Luck. Colts don't draft RGIII, does he fall to us? Do we pull the trigger? Also, if Michael Vick can become a great west coast QB I don't see why RGIII can't fit our system. I really don't think (and hope) especially with the success of Cam Newton that the Shannys are that stubborn that if they draft RGIII they won't tailor the system a bit to fit RGIII's skill set.

I cant say this any clearer, if RG3 falls to us we should take him with no hesitation. RG3 is a fit in our offense.

Or how about saying you are trading Fred Davis instead of Devin Thomas?

I choose Devin Thomas because on draft day he was the Skins most valuable commodity. He also helps serve as a reminder that not all draft picks pan out so trading 5 early draft picks, while risky, doesn't necessarily mean you're drafting 5 starters.

The idea of taking 5 talented young guys is all about power in numbers. It's a given that they'll be guys who don't pan out. If you take 10 or so young guys from every draft you'll end up with a more certain 3 to 4 hit average every year...that's why there should be a stress on selection quantity, especially when your depth is as shallow as ours.

If Luck miraculously falls to us then I'm all for it, otherwise we need all the draft value we can retain by staying pat with our pick...We're no longer that desperate team that needs to force things.

Hail To The Redskins!

So basically you are saying players in every conference except the SEC sucks and can't be great in the NFL. I thought that was DirtBag's shtick?

Nope, all I am saying is don't believe the hype!!!!!!! Every overhyped QB has not fulfilled the expectations and have struggled over the past decade. Even the phenom of 2011 Cam Newton can't get his team to win. Too many people on here always fixate on the overhyped QB, every year. My point is with Luck is that he torched the crappy Pac 10 teams, but got burnt by the really good ones. Luck would have fared the same in the Big Ten or the SEC. I am not knocking the Pac 10 at all. Most conferences this season only had 2-3 decent teams in them, including the SEC.

To expand on my previous post, I want to ask the question as to why we think we bring in one guy, that the sky is going to part and we will win a Lombardi 2-3 years later? Our team is full of holes at the line and the defensive backfield. Depth at LB is also woefully inadequate. Also, how do we know that Luck won't turn out to be just average or God help us a new Shuler? To give up solid starters and/or picks for an unknown quantity is just plain stupid!!!

So what you are saying is draft Nick Foles 1st round?

I don't know what you done be talking bout. Everyone done knows if Andrew Luck played at a REAL school and not fancy schmancy country club that he might almost win one game. Ya'll want a QB boy I tell you what that Jarrett Lee boy is a winner. Sure it might look uglier then Atlanta after Sherman's march but he gets the job done. I mean, how many Pac-whatever QB's are in the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP game this year? I done put my case to bed with a warm glass of milk squeezed fresh from a cow.

This is what I think about Andrew Luck. He's a great collegiate quarterback. He's one of the best that I've ever seen. The thing is this: how would he play in a more competitive conference like the BIG 10, BIG 12, or SEC? The defenses are far more competitive in those conferences as opposed to the PAC 10. How would he do against Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas, LSU, Auburn, or Alabama? My opinion is that whether Luck struggled against these defenses or not, they are far more better than the defenses from Washington, Washington St. Oregon, Oregon State, USC, Arizona, and Arizona St. And since Matt Barkley is a PAC 10 QB also, I'm bringing him into question also along with Luck.

rg3 would make dan snyder a shit ton of coin and he would grace ever signature line of members of every skins fan forum.

i wouldnt give up 3 1st for luck. to me if you have to give up that much it seems it just wasnt meant to be. id probably do 2 1st if people/scouts i really trusted praised him as a once n a lifetime prospect.
