You own the team, and if you didn't terminate Cowher after his 6-10 season last year, or after his other three losses at home in the AFC championship game, I know you will not terminate him after this embarrassment.

I think guys are being a little hard on Cowher. When you break it down, they were not the better team in many of the games they played in.

Starting with the 1995 Superbowl vs Dallas. Lets face it, Dallas was a dynasty, they won the Superbowl 3/4 years. They were much better than Pittsburgh was.

1994 AFC Title Game- Now this is the one I agree w/ Steeler fan on. Looking back, there is no way in hell the Chargers should have run into Pittsburgh and beat them.

1995- They won.

1997 AFC Title Game - They lost against the Bronocs by three. The Broncos won the SUperbowl, so they were obviously a pretty freaking good team.

2001 AFC Title Game- Lost to the Patriots 24-17. 2004 AFC Title Game Lost to Patriots 41-27. The Patriots were and are still the best team this league has seen in well over a decade. There is no shame in losing to those guys, they are freaking awsome. Its not Cowhers fault, and the fact that that guy thinks the Steelers were more talented than any of the teams they lost too, with the exception of the Chargers is a joke.

I had just read a story the week before the game... it said that Rooney was hoping that Cowher would stay for the rest of his career. Can't imagine that one poorly coached game would change that.

I like Cowher as a coach, not sure I'd want to be on his team after a loss, but he's a great coach!

I must agree that their playcalling was well... bad. I guess Joe Gibbs gave them some hints before the game.

People in Pittsburg don't buy not going for on 4th down inside the 4. Kicking a field goal still made it 2 scores to go. And they would have had to make a 2 point conversion. He said he would do it again which is probally the issue with most fans and the owner. I would not be suprised to see it happen though. Grimm would then get the job. Mind you the guy calling the plays was a former Gibbs guy (TE) Wisenhut,

I didn't have a big prob with the field goal because I didn't believe they could score a td from the 3, the problem I had was not pounding the ball 3 straight times inside the 4 yard line, they had a supierior O-line and 2 powerful back's and they throw an alley oop on 2nd down and basically threw that ball up for grab's that was the play that cost them you have to do better than that.

Yeah, you put the ball in the hands of your proven veterans when the game is on the line.

Bettis/Staley up the middle were getting stuffed pretty well, I thought a pass was a good idea. I think I would have run it on 4th down. I think when you're that close you should go for it more often than not, especially with a strong D. Make em drive 97 yards back the other way!

he needs to be fired , he just had the best chance he'll ever have in pitt. they won't be nearly as good next year. we all saw the real ben rothlisberger on sun. he was just an overachieving qb during the regular season. they won't have plaxico next year. maybe not the bus. they'll lose players on d ( they always do ). bill cowher has a history of making bad decisions ( kordell stewart ). he has over stayed his welcome in pitt. he's kinda like dennis green, can't win the big ones. steelers record next year 8-8 :Flush:

cowher doesnt get fired, but coaches do get fired for not being able to win in the playoffs even if they great in the regular season everyyear.

you think andy reid would have been fired if the eagles lost?
