12thMan 01-18-2012, 11:52 AM Whatever the case, I think Manning is losing leverage the longer this drags out. SmootSmack 01-18-2012, 11:54 AM Most starting QBs take the majority (if not all) of the first team snaps SBXVII 01-18-2012, 12:04 PM #1- Didn't coach Caldwell just get fireD? #2- Manning might not like whoever is brought in. #3- I've said it once I'll say it again. The Colts owner has stated "If Manning is healthy he will keep him and play him, if Manning can no longer play he will let him go, but he will not be trading Manning." ^ take it how you want but just last week I heard a rumor that Mannings doctor has advised Manning not to play ever again. Supposedly Manning does not want this out and it is believed that this advisement will probably find a way to get out. My comment about Manning becoming an Asst. coach was based off the fact that he probably won't want to leave the game, probably after hearing he can no longer play want to be close to the game and start coaching, and has a formidable amount of knowledge he could pass on. I didn't say he should be made OC, or HC, or any sort of thing. All I said was Asst. coach which actually would probably be some sort of quality control guy. However I could see him being a QB coach because he could help whoever is at QB learn technique, learn how to read defenses, and help come up with all sorts of handy signs and signals to use during a game. 12thMan 01-18-2012, 12:15 PM Now Chris Russell is reporting that Saturday is retiring further throwing a monkey wrench into a potential Skins deal. SmootSmack 01-18-2012, 12:31 PM Now Chris Russell is reporting that Saturday is retiring further throwing a monkey wrench into a potential Skins deal. Russell is saying he's definitely retiring? Or that he's considering it? MTK 01-18-2012, 12:46 PM Jeff Saturday may retire | ProFootballTalk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/01/18/jeff-saturday-may-retire/) 12thMan 01-18-2012, 01:15 PM @SS..considering. skinsfan69 01-18-2012, 01:47 PM So what is the deal with Manning's health? Is he even able to throw the ball with any type of zip? Seems to me that this thing is pretty serious since he wasn't even able to play one snap all year. He didn't even practice. Hopefully the Skins have learned their lesson with the whole McNabb mess and look the other way. I don't want a 36 year Manning with a bad neck. diehard 01-18-2012, 01:51 PM I don't want Manning period. This team is not that close to winning a championship. If BAL or SF doesn't win the SB, those two teams should shoot for Manning. And let's not forget NYJ. SBXVII 01-18-2012, 02:08 PM I don't Manning period. This team is not that close to winning a championship. If BAL or SF doesn't win the SB, those two teams should shoot for Manning. And let's not forget NYJ. "IF" Manning was 100% healthy and was capable of taking a hit then I'd say ok lets try to get him as our QB next year. I think it's difficult to say lets pick him up if he's let go and hopefully by Sept. he will be cleared to play. I would not do it with that in mind. What I would do however is bring him on with some type of contract agreement that "IF" he can't play then perhaps he would stay as a coach in some capacity. He proves his worth I could see him being a OC somewhere down the road and possibly a HC. |
