SmootSmack 01-13-2012, 04:15 PM This author is reading it the same as me, Bram is implying trade.
Im almost certain that Saturday is a FA, so the above deosnt make sense. But perhaps if the Redskins arnt directly talking to Manning maybe theyre talking to Saturday? Maybe at this point Manning think hes gonna get released and told Saturday?
Well, the actual Tweet was:
"One of the people who's opinion at ESPN I trust the most says Peyton + Saturday to Redskins is VERY likely.. So, I have to warm up to it?"
Not sure where he implies trade there
Someone on this message board (who used to work with him) asked Bram about this and he said the Insider (who has nothing to do with the Redskins, just a general NFL insider) did not say anything about a trade. Just that if healthy and available, the Redskins would be very interested and the feeling may be mutual bc Peyton is a big Mike Shanahan fan, though the Redskins are probably not his first choice. They would likely only go after him if he's a FA, although in Bram's personal opinion the Colts would only trade Peyton. He doesn't think they'll just let him walk if he's healthy
SBXVII 01-13-2012, 04:24 PM Inside Peyton Manning's surgery – - CNN.com Blogs (http://thechart.blogs.cnn.com/2011/09/09/inside-peyton-mannings-surgery/)
Ok so the doctor says last year other Colts members had the surgery and returned to football. Over all 40 players had it last year and all returned. He says their usually out 12 weeks then they can resume playing. But then he throws in this....
If the nerve is badly compressed before the surgery, however, specific muscle groups may be weaker than normal, but doctors would know about that beforehand. That would require a longer course of rehabilitation to help strengthen his muscles, Maroon said.
So is this what P.Mannings problem was and why he didn't return this year?

Come on that definitely implies trade more so then anything else. Bram should have added in "if released" if thats what he meant.
Either way i dont see any team wanting to trade for him until he is payed his bonus in March. Once he gets paid his 28million bonus im sure a lot of teams would trade big for him, but the Colts wouldnt want to trade him. Unless there was a problem with his surgery I dont think he gets released, but I guess well know in March.

Bram doesn't say it, the writer for the story says it... sorta. He implies it when he says this....
According to a tweet from ESPN Anchor Bram Weinstein (https://twitter.com/#!/BramWeinstein/statuses/157812756635066370), Indianapolis Colts’ quarterback Peyton Manning – who missed the entire 2011 NFL season while recovering from one-level cervical neck fusion surgery – could be part of a package deal with Colts center Jeff Saturday to get shipped to the Washington Redskins
It's the whole "package deal" and "shipped" wording.

well yeah I think thats most people opinions. If Indy let him walk, it would be jaw dropping decision.

Not much so. Look at it this way, the Colts have said that they are not trading him. If he's healthy they will keep him if he's not they will let him go. But what they fail to say is if they draft Luck and Peyton is not happy then they might just be smart in letting him go before he's due his extra money so they don't take such a big CAP hit. If they pay him and trade him they take a bigger hit I think then if they just let him go.
skinsfan69 01-13-2012, 04:34 PM I just heard on the radio that the Redskins are interested in Manning and Jeff Saturday as a package deal. I hope this isn't true but I'd be willing to bet it is.

Keep in mind the Radio could be commenting on the same tweet we are.
But if it is true I hope we are not throwing away our top draft picks. I'd still like to get a QB and WR with the first two picks. QB to learn under Peyton or start if they are better then the FA QB we pick up, and a WR to give said QB's an offensive weapon.
skinsguy 01-13-2012, 04:39 PM Um.....I'd be willing to give them Chris Cooley + Roy Helu (because I actually believe Evan Royster may wind up being the better of the two backs,) but the Redskins should still do what they need to do to get RG III.
