Roy Helu becomes first Redskins rookie with three straight 100-yard games - The Insider - The Washington Post (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/football-insider/post/roy-helu-becomes-first-redskins-rookie-with-three-straight-100-yard-games/2011/12/11/gIQANCVGoO_blog.html)

I think a Redskins Rookie record deserves it's on thread. Roy Helu is the first rookie RB in franchise history to rush for 3 straight 100 yard games, this is a traditionally good RB franchise, so lets hope Roy becomes our STAR we have been craving for!

“It’s pretty cool,” Helu said. “All credit to the linemen. They did pretty great.”

Stand up kind of guy and a TEAM player, I like him more and more.

Helu, though, was typically critical of himself afterward.
“I need to work on a whole bunch of stuff, being disciplined in pass protection while running and accelerating my feet on contact,” Helu said. “I think today I can definitely look at some game film and improve.”

Roy Helu remains a bright spot in Redskins’ dismal season - The Washington Post (http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/redskins/roy-helu-remains-a-bright-spot-in-a-dismal-season/2011/12/11/gIQAoLGLoO_story.html)

“I don’t think Helu even has a television. He didn’t get a computer until very late, if he even has Internet access,” said linebacker London Fletcher (http://stats.washingtonpost.com/fb/playerstats.asp?id=4539&team=28), chuckling approvingly. “It seems like he never leaves the facility [Redskins Park]. That’s rare for a young man. I appreciate the way he takes care of his body first and stays on top of his job before anything else.

This guy is awesome I mean who wouldn't want to block for Helu? This is one running back that gives all the credit to his FB's and OL's. Hopefully we've only scratched the surface with him.

It's hard to not really like this kid. He's humble, he works hard, and he let's his play talk for him. He's got a really bright future.

Helu is maybe a bit of a darkhorse for this years offensive MVP with Davis and Williams on the shelf. And unlike last year, that wouldn't be a cheapy award given to Santana Moss because, "well, I guess he didn't disappoint me too bad."

It is a thing of beauty when Helu plants his foot and accelerates through the hole.

Yeah I'd give the MVP award to Roy, would have been a split with Fred and Trent but they are clowns so All hail to Helu

He compares favorably to Forte when Forte was a rookie. But I think if he had Forte's smoothness and elusiveness and ability to be great in the open field, he would have gone higher than he did.

Helu can create yards where there appear to be none and as long as he can do that, he will be a viable runner in the NFL. I wouldn't call his vision superb, but after watching Ryan Torain mistake the water cooler on the sideline for the goalpost for two seasons, I can live with the occasional missed hole.
