Jeff Garcia set to sign with Houston Texans, former NY Jets quarterback Kellen Clemens cut - NY Daily News (http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/jeff-garcia-set-sign-houston-texans-ny-jets-quarterback-kellen-clemens-cut-article-1.987796)

This makes me happy. One of my favorite QBs in the NFL, i always thought he was under-rated and under-appreciated.

The guy has always been a winner, minus the two teams where nobody seems to really succeed (Cleveland & Detroit). Has played in the playoffs for 3 different teams, San Fran, Philly, and Tampa Bay. I will always remember how he saved the eagles season in 2006.

Anway, the guy is 41 now and still in great shape apparantly. If he ends up starting (and he probably will at some point), and the texans make the playoffs, Garcia will make NFL history by being the only QB to ever start in the playoffs for 4 different clubs, and possibly the oldest player to play in the playoffs as starting QB...

I'll bet the Texans never imagined this summer they'd be making a playoff push at the end of the season with Delhomme and Garcia as their #2 and #3 QBs behind TJ Yates

Wow, good for Garcia. If he gets an opportunity later, it will be interesting to see how he does. I'd rather have him back in the NFL than Brittfar.

Is it bad that I think a previously retired 41 year old Jeff Garcia is probably a better option than Kellen Clemens?

/But Kellen Clemens might have "it!" If we had just put him in while we had the chance, we might not be in this mess.

Haha. Houston is not in a dire need for "upside" guys like we are. They already have Yates as their "upside" guy. :laughing-

...Garcia is probably better (still) than either of our "starters."

Eff you Kyle...eff you.

Id say right now we could start garcia and be better offensively. I don't know what it is about him, but he is just able to sustain drives and make things work on the field. People say that he never had the arm which I believe is bull because there is plenty of film on him throwing the bombs to t.o. when he was in san fran. Even in philly he sat an nfl record for the longest td in the playoffs, which was a 99 yard pass (onabout 60 yards was the throw....
