I think it's safe to say the Skins will have some serious leverage in negotiating a new deal with FD, and interest on the free agent market may be lukewarm at best for him.I don't know. Santonio Holmes is a strike away from a year suspension and the Jets gave him $50 million.
There's two elite receiving TEs on the market this year, and Davis is one of them.

I guess Holmes was a proven commodity and a SB winning WR. But I guess you are right on that one.

TEs are a dime a dozen and a big reason for FDs production is because the Skins WRs are so bad. I dont see the need to invest big $ in him.

I smell a serious hometown discount coming his way
Yep. He'll end up on the west coast. Probably with Carroll's Seahawks.

I partially agree, but if you can pair Fred Davis up with a young solid wide receiver and a capable young QB, this could become a pretty prolific offense in a rather short amount of time.
But I will say, he probably just sliced the salary he was going to make this offseason by at least 30%. Real boneheaded move. He is going to have the world record for most expensive joint ever......idiot.

When he was arrested in the summer of 2008 he was a pretty key figure in their defense.
But my point was more so that even the "best" organizations have players with issues much more major than getting caught smoking weed
I understand the similarity of two NFL organizations dealing with drug related suspensions to key players, but at the same time...
Meh, I'll be honest, I'm just tired right now and I don't feel like arguing semantics with you, because the whole "we're the only team that deals with shit like this" argument is weak shit anyways. W/e. I guess my only question at this point is how the f did Trent Williams earn a Captains patch? I don't even know how you can have the nerve to call yourself a leader of men when you do dumb shit like get caught doing drugs 3 f'n times in two seasons.

If you want to go that route he's from Ohio so...

What do Skins do with these two dummies? - NFC East Blog - ESPN (http://espn.go.com/blog/nfceast/post/_/id/33595/what-do-skins-do-with-these-two-dummies)
Good article and good points.
No way we can rely on these guys in the near future. Trent is going to have to go about 10+ years without ever failing another drug test and quite honestly I don't believe he can. Davis won't last as long, but it's hard to imagine him not failing another one either. Can it be done? Sure. Chances are high they'll get caught again after already blowing 3 chances, and next time, it's going to be for a year. (even though it should be a year now)
