Bucket 12-03-2011, 12:01 AM Only difference is, Bob Sanders made plays on the field. Landry never reads the qb's eyes and makes plays on the ball, and when he sees an opportunity to lay the wood, he tries to lay the wood, only to watch the offensive player bounce off him and keep going for another nice chunk of yards.
lol what? It's funny how a bad season can turn around people's opinion of players. That is just a silly comment

LL is bad in coverage as is and honestly OJ A hasn't done much this year either
Bucket 12-03-2011, 12:10 AM You guys are to brutal. Landry has his flaws, but he's still an exciting player on our team and to boo him out of Washington is dumb.
Yes, he's missed tackles.. Those things happen, he's given up plays... Those things happen. It's not just one man playing against boys. It's a field of the worlds best athletes playing against each other.
Bob Sanders
Sean Taylor
Ed Reed
Brian Dawkins
John Lynch
Steve Atwater
All of them had made great plays, and I can throw out just as many bad plays as well.. It happens.. Landry is our best Safety right now, and at a position were we can't seem to fill with anything since our boy #21 passed away. We should keep the stable pieces in place.

I'll be the first to admit Landry was having an excellent season before he got injured in 2010. But for whatever reason he hasn't been the same player this season at all. Maybe it's because he's injured, but it's also his fault he's still dealing with that Achilles. How many players do you see get a serious injury like an Achilles and not get surgery on it?
And don't sit there and act like he didn't just do exactly what I said above last week in Seattle. He tried to lay the wood and that guy that plays for Seattle just bounced off him and gained an additional 10 yards. And that's not the first time that's happened. Add in the fact that he doesn't have a pick this season and you can say all you want about his impact, but the facts are showing it's just not there this season. Atogwe has been underwhelming too and that only magnifies the problem.
All that said, do I want him back next season? If I ran the team, I'd tell him to go do whatever he needs to do to be healthy next season, I'd give him a one year deal, and I'd let him know he's got one more chance to show this team he can be an elite player. Because we all know he will want to be paid like an elite player, but I'm not seeing the production to match it so far.

Its good you would tell Laundry that you would give him a 1 year deal if you were in charge. The thing is he is a free agent at the end of the season. So unless we franchise tag him or offer him a contract you wont be getting a 1 year deal from LaRon. It's no way he is going to risk a injury for a 1 year deal. Either we roll the dice and sign him to a long term deal or franchise tag him for trade bait. When LaRon is healthy he is a beast so we just have to keep our fingers cross that he will get healthy this off season and work out with our training staff. We need to keep our players and pay them instead of bring in more Adam Archelettas who are free agent busts.
GTripp0012 12-03-2011, 08:55 AM Look, I think it says a lot about Landry's value that no one thinks he's been at his best this year or even particularly good, and yet he's been perhaps the only above average performer in our secondary this year. It also says a lot about Atogwe, Hall, and Wilson. Though I think in Josh Wilson's case, we got what was advertised.
Chico23231 12-03-2011, 11:31 AM Does D Hall stay or go in the offseason? scheduled to make 6.8m next year and 8.3m 2013

Now that's a better question. With Landry I am confident if he's healthy and willing to learn from his mistakes, he can easily be the player he's supposed to be. With D.Hall I'm not sure we want to pay him 6.8 mil for uneven play next season.

I know it looks like alot of money, but I think it is probably average CB money. I would consider him at least close to average.
