We only doled out 3.5 million guaranteed plus whatever little salary and incentives he met to him. I guess the Vikes picked up the rest of the tab. 1 year of average QB play for 3.5 mil is not that bad.

The fact that we got something for him and that we paid only 3.5M for below to average QB play is fine. Unfortunately, as we all know the kicker was at the front end, the only way we "break even" is if we are magically awarded 2nd and 4th round picks.

Little? He was paid 14.7 million for that season. Is 14.7 million for 1 season of mediocre QB play not that bad? My main point was is that he was already under contract,he had been benched. They{Shanahans}were not happy with his play and had other issues with him.But on the night they get their asses handed to them in front of America its announced they sign him to a new contract.Who does that? Then benches him again driving down his market value even more. Only the :censored:redskins :spank:

Ndamukong Suh was in a car accident in Portland today. I guess my only question is why wasn't he driving his Chrysler 300? Because you know, he's all about grittiness and reliability, and that's what the 300 is.

He would have become a UFA and simply walked. We probably get no draft picks in return.
Cap hit matters more than money doled out. McNabb isn't killing us with deadcap.

No, he makes it sound like it was decided to hand McNabb a contract extension after we got our asses kicked by the Eagles. Why does it matter though? Obviously they put a nice escape clause into the contract so the Skins could get out of it if they wanted to, which they did. And who cares how much money they spent? It's Dan Snyder's money, he can spend it if he wants to. The only money that matters is the money that counts against the cap, and that was relatively little.

I'll agree with you for the moment but I'd imagine DS being the business man he is does not take the monitary fall for these decisions. As an example I'll use the Big Oil companies. A huricane comes through and destroys a couple of rigs and repairs have to be made or a new well dug and the cost is patched down to the consumer (you and me) when you see the gas prices go up and down at the pump.
So I'm guessing DS makes up for his bad decisions or monitary losses by either raising food costs, beer cost, seat costs, or parking costs. Just my business sense but I could be wrong. But my spidey senses tell me we the fans in the long run are some how paying for it even though we'd like to think it's all Dan's money.
