I know he won't.
I knew you knew that. It just gave me a chance to ramble on, like an obsessed Redskins fan.

It just gave me a chance to ramble on, like an obsessed Redskins fan. Works for me. mbedner3420 12-05-2011, 10:20 PM I say we end up drafting 5th with Minny, St.Louis, Indy and tampa ahead of us. I think that every one of those teams is fine at the QB position, but Indy WILL take Luck. So the question is, will Tampa take one qb, or will both great qbs drop to the 5th pick, giving us our choice? Point is, if we end up with Matthew Barkley as our signal caller coming out of the 2012 draft, this draft was a great one. If we end up without him and RG3 turns out to be our qb, then it still will be a good draft. But if we do not get either of them, and Shanny takes a chance on "his" type of guy, say in the 2nd round in order to groom him and such, then I am not so sure...........I wouldnt hate to see Tannehill running our O, shit, he would be better t han what we have right now the first day he stepped onto the field, AS A ROOKIE. If that is Shannys direction, then who could you see him rolling with in the first round if he targets tannehill in the 2nd? Would it be a WR? Or would he go OLine? My only real concern at this point is Cle. SS has already mentioned that the browns are deeply interested in Barkley... SFREDSKIN 12-06-2011, 12:54 AM One thing I worry about Shanahan is that he would pass Barkley and go for Landry Jones if he decides to enter the draft. I smell a Ryan Leaf vs Manning scenario. I really felt they went with rex and beck because of the lockout. They felt they wouldn't have time coach up a rookie or FA. All bets off if there was no lockout. To me, that decision made sense. No one could have predicted how well Newton and Dalton are doing. EARTHQUAKE2689 12-06-2011, 02:05 PM True but Shanny is so tight lipped who knows what QB he will take. SkinzWin 12-06-2011, 02:34 PM I want to say: "well you gotta trust Shanahan and his decision" but then I remember that he went with Rex and Beck this season. Not directed specifically at you, you just brought up the thought in my mind, but I get tired of so many people belittling Shanny for having Rex/Beck as the QB combo this year. If he didn't like the guys available in the draft, then he didn't like them. If he didn't think any FA's were a good fit, then why would he get them. Especially after the bad taste left in his mouth from going out and getting another FA that doesn't pan out the year before in McNabb. You know how all over him people and the media would be? We have so many problems he can't fix them all in one year. We got some good FA's and some good draft picks. I am confident we will address QB this year in the draft. Rome wasn't built in a day. Paintrain 12-06-2011, 02:44 PM I really felt they went with rex and beck because of the lockout. They felt they wouldn't have time coach up a rookie or FA. All bets off if there was no lockout. To me, that decision made sense. No one could have predicted how well Newton and Dalton are doing. Agreed, long term we are no worse off from the Rex/Beck decision than we would have been if we brought someone else in via free agency. My only issue is that there hasn't been a developmental QB brought in via the draft in either of the previous 2 seasons. Anyone who has watched Gabbert or Ponder can't really be too upset we didn't pick one of them over Kerrigan. Gabbert looks like he may be out of the league in 3 years, he looks AWFUL! |
