Landry to Dallas would be sickening. Even if he doesn't regain form, he'll have a big game or two versus us.

I don't care where LaRon Landry ends up. As long as he's not a Redskin anymore. Joe Gibbs should have drafted Derrelle Revis instead of Landry.

Would rather have Patrick Willis.

The Redskins probably would have drafted Willis had they not signed London Fletcher in free agency that year. But Willis is a 3-4 inside knife backer. The Redskins were running the four-three defense in 2007 but under Mike Singletary the 49ers were. You can't really compare cornerbacks to safeties, but Derelle Revis has proven to be a better overall defensive back than Landry from that 2007 draft. Gibbs should have drafted Revis instead of Landry.

I certainly won't second guess the LL pick. At the time the coaches, GW in particular, loved him & he came in immediately and contributed. This thread would be so different, if it even existed, had he not torn his achilles. Since then, everything's gone south w/him & all of his flaws look that much worse.

Me personally, I expect more out of a 6th overall draft selection. Gibbs and GW saw great potential with Landry and that they foresaw teaming him in the defensive backfield with Sean Taylor, making them an unbeatable tandem. But after Taylo're untimely death, LaRon Landry had to become a safety that he wasn't really meant to be in Sean's shadow.

Playing out of position at FS, he got scorched on two Drew Brees bombs in a 2009 game against the New Orleans Saints and that's when I began to "go south" on him as you would say. When Shanahan and Haslett came after Zorn's firing, Landry played okay. Things happen in the NFL with injuries and things of that nature. Landry was the best defensive player in the NFL for the first half of the 2010 season before his injury. But he ended that year on IR and really didn't contribute much to the 2011 campaign and again went on IR. Now, he opted not to have the surgery and he actually should have had it but hey, it's his body.

I just feel it's time for the Redskins to move on from Landry. Mike Shanahan and Bruce Allen has to do what's in the absolute best interest of this team.

Did not know that. I'll bet the Skins would love it if the Rams would take him in a trade offer
