Paintrain 11-21-2011, 04:51 PM That you are...over the past two week's we've seen the passing game improved when Rex had time and there was some accuracy. While I wouldn't mind picking up a good WR in free agency, i feel that if you fix the QB position and add depth to the o-line, our WR issues will be significantly less.
I just see the WR in our division alone, Nicks, Bryant, Austin, Jackson, Maclin and even with 5 Pro Bowlers on the OL, our WR don't have the same level of talent, explosiveness and playmaking ability as any of them and that's just a 3 team comparison. If I expanded it across the NFL, I don't think that on ability alone, any of our WR would be in the top 50 at that position.

WRs are only as good as the QB throwing them the ball. Are any of the Colts Wrs doing anything this year? Didn't think so.

Good point but again the talent and ability need to be there as well. I don't think we're scaring anyone with Stallworth, Anderson, Armstrong and Gaffney.

I think our QB play and running game isn't scaring anyone. If we had a QB that had better accuracy with the deep passes and in the red zone, our WRs/TEs would be having great years and we'd have a much better record.
Right now we have no running game and a mediocre QB behind center. No WR is going to be successful under those circumstances.

Agree with that point as well. I guess I'm saying that even with the best circumstances, we don't have anyone of note at the WR position and to get to the contender level, we need at least one of those type players. Simply adding one of those players won't make a difference, it starts with QB, OL/running game is a key but that's not a 'weak link' position on an elite offense.

True. However, Hankerson showed some flashes of development, and I believe he will improve on that next season. I think a veteran wideout in FA is not out of the question, but as with our defense, I feel that the WR position is hard to judge given the shaky QB play and lack of running game.
In previous years our WR was terrible and it showed during games when you saw players dropping balls, not making easy catches, and not being able to get separation. I don't think we've seen much of that this season.
artmonkforhallofamein07 11-21-2011, 05:44 PM Listening to Shanny's presser right now- Trent's MRI came back as just a grade 1 MCL sprain- not nearly as bad as a grade 3. That's a positive for sure. Maybe he misses a week, but certainly not a long term thing.
Great news!

Nope not really. Just problems in pass pro, the running game, and the QB. So those are our areas of need. OL and QB. and more OL
skinsfaninok 11-21-2011, 06:08 PM why would we draft a LT in the 1st?? WTF
skins89moss 11-21-2011, 06:35 PM If Trent cant go who will play LT vs the Seahawks? Our O-line has so many injuries thats why our running game has suffered. We need to draft o-line 2012 draft .
We need QB 1st Oline 2nd and best players after that.
